Places to have a driving lesson

Hi there,

My partners dad has offered to teach me to drive and I wondered if anyone knew of any quiet spots to have some gentle introductory lessons. He lives on crystal palace road. I'm ideally looking for somewhere that's spacious and empty of an evening or Sunday afternoon, like a retail park or industrial area. Can anyone think of any suitable spots that are local? Anyone used anywhere nearby for the same purpose?
