Tillie keep trying, they tend to release tickets in blocks, so there may be more. Also, by tomorrow some tickets will be back on sale for those poor gits whose credit cards wouldn't cover the price! I thought I'd missed out on Reading and was very gutted as all my mates managed to get tickets! However, I had a speculative look the following day, and sure enough got a pair of tickets :-)

There will be some more going on sale on 22nd April (check the date and time on Glastonbury website) - all those people with declined debit cards, duplicate purchases, etc etc.

Also, if you opt for the 'coach and Glasto' package, you probably stand a much higher chance: thare were 25,000 of those guaranteed, and most people don't want the coach.

If that is motivation for your teenager to leave home, it may indeed be a good thing. My neighbours teenager has not gotten out of bed since leaving Dulwich College last summer. He will not even open the front door to the dog walker.

Teenagers of today, they get too much if you ask me!

How old does Max have to be before I can get him a paper round or send him up a chimney?

I think that the chimney cleaning age is now set at 7 years old as long as it "work experience" and results in a project report. The same is true for loom cleaning and match box manufacture. Not sure about boot-black making, might be subject to different rules.

And Tillie, for future years, why not recommend that they apply to be an Oxfam volunteer at the festival (this one or the many others that Oxfam works with)? Too late for this year for Glasto, but this kills so many birds with one stone, viz

- introduces them to the concept of work

- makes money for the charity (which gets around ?200 per volunteer)

- often allows them to work with their friends (same shifts)

- means you don't have to pay for a ticket for them, or for transport, and they get fed and have *exclusive* volunteer facilities (ha!)

- they are out of your hair

and so on. Why not suggest, indeed, that they apply to volunteer at a different festival? (Some still open for volunteer applications this year e.g. Glade.) You know it makes sense!

Sounds like a very good idea Lou and very grateful that you have thought about my predicament...unfortunately, like most teenagers, she wouldnt dream of getting her hands dirty. This would have been her 3rd year at Glasto already and like most of us she is fully into the laid backness that is Glasto. Will defo be trying again on the 22nd.

    • Thank you. Yes we scanned him last time, he is neutered & chipped. We asked neighbours who were feeding him to keep him in as, owner said she wasn't back till following day. That night whilst he was kept in, Gladys came back. The owner lives on a street who's garden  backs onto my friends garden. We asked neighbour that kept him in for night, to not feed him anymore. The owner said not long after she got him, he went out January, never went back till December! I did say so you don't want the cat, she said yes she does but she can't lock him in. I suggested she leaflet all houses who's back gardens back onto hers, to say to stop feeding him. She didn't do it. So until people stop feeding him, he will be a problem as he obviously doesn't want to go home and all the time she never saw him, there was no posters up looking for him, so it's one of those situations! He is a beautiful fluffy black and white and is enormous. Don't know what the solution would be if owner not bothered. Celia hammond overflowing, even kitten season was early this year. Can't take a owned cat though I'm sure he isn't happy. I'm hoping Gladys and Doris will go back home if he isn't loitering. Yes their owner does spray him with water but has little impact. It is a real problem and a worry that they are too frightened to go home and may travel further away. That is the real worry. Will keep post updated.
    • Hi, I’m looking for a small garden table and 2 chairs used but in good condition, ideally one you’d like to get rid of 😊 Chairs need to be sturdy so that she can sit on these safely!  Thanks in advance for her!
    • Is what true? That the student units part of this development that hasn't yet been built is going to fall vacant because there's such a collapse in the number of students in London that they can't rent the units out, and then the Labour government is going to appropriate them to house them asylum seekers? Is that what you're asking is true?
