East2
I have 2 young children and a garden which resembles a bit of a ski slope. I was thinking of getting this tiered or something to make it more child friendly has anyone had this done? Can you recommend anyone. We would need quite a lot of earth removed, is it best to get a builder in to do this? I was hoping it wasn't going to cost an arm & a leg!! Any advice appreciated. KidKruger
Decent groundwork can be expensive and you'll be creating lots of drops for the little ones to fall off. fl0wer
Could I suggest as a first stage you google 'hillside gardening image' which will give you plenty of ideas, and help you tell your prospective designer/builder what you're after. London garden designer
Hi thereDid you get anywhere with this.If not, I would be happy to advise.I'm just completing a 1-year Garden Design diploma at the prestigious design school KLC - based at Chelsea Harbour. (I have had 16 years marketing/design experience before this). My services include site analysis/survey, taking a brief from you, producing designs in 2d and 3d and producing a comprehensive planting plan. I can also source plants and plant up once the build is complete.I'd be happy to have an initial no obligation chat with you and show you my portfolio. You would need a landscaper builder to carry out the actual build. I could put this out to tender on your behalf or you can organise this yourself.Hope to hear from you soon.Kind regardsSimon Orchard07806 355 656 Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/40618-steep-garden/#findComment-730470 Share on other sites
Robert Poste's Child
Simon, apologies for the personal question but is Orchard your real name? It's perfect for someone who designs gardens. womanofdulwich
If you have a sloping garden and can afford it it would be great to incorporate some moving water in it- and/or a zip wire!! BB100
I've learnt never to use a builder for gardens. Always get a gardener or landscape builder otherwise you end up with straight red brick walls and no character. They probably could redestribute the soil as part of the design rather than get rid as that is cistly.
