Just wondered if anyone has a recommendation for a family friendly Greek hotel for a June holiday? We are a family of 4 including a 1 year old and 4 year old and looking for a hotel/resort near a beach and preferably near a town with a kids club and one or two bedroomed suites...

I have heard of Sani & Elounda which look good - any other recommendations?

Thanks!

If you'd consider Crete rather than mainland Greece then this hotel not far from Chania (regular flights) was amazing for kids and adults....

The food was excellent (esp breakfast) and reasonably priced as it's all extra. Private beach. Smart rooms. Short bus ride from small city.

We went to Sani as our pre-baby last holiday not realising how popular with families it was! But it was lovely and we will definitely go back when our little one is older. Very child friendly. There is a "dine around" option so you can eat in any of the restaurants at the 4 hotels for a good variety. There is a beach club and all the hotels are near the beach. The only thing I don't know is whether it's near a town or not. Certainly not in walking distance I don't think (although I could be wrong, we didn't look into walking far as I was 5 months pregnant!).
We are going away with Nielsen holidays to lemnos in Greece as they have really great child care and babysitting evenings too . They also have an under 2 cr?che which seems to be quite rare and it's walking distance to a town. If you quote mums net they give a nice discount too as do mark warner .

Hi Lou, I've been to Domes and Sani's on my list for future hols. Domes is way smaller, so less facilities / dining options / more intimate boutique feel. Sani is a big, big resort, but Porto Sani Village looks pretty tastefully done. At Domes most rooms have their own pool which isn't the case at PSV I don't think. Both pretty similar transfer times. I guess I would say scale is the key differentiator. Hope this helps!

I came onto this thread to recommend Ammos hotel in Crete and see someone beat me to it!

We had a fabulous two week holiday there a couple of years ago. The rooms were lovely, I thought the whole place was excellent value for money, and Chania was surprisingly pretty and cultured when we ventured in.

We went with 2 year old twins so it was important to me for a holiday to be as little stress as possible - it's only 1/2 hour cab journey from the airport and the hotel is right on the beach, so you really could chill out.

Pefki Islands Resort in Pefkos is a lovely place for families. Its very clean, staff very friendly, they have two swimming pools plus a baby one. you can also use the swimming pools and the facilities in the adjoining complex (less than a minute walk). They have kids club as well, plenty of entertainment. have a look on Thomas cook's website for photos etc

    • Ah yes, good spot! Thanks for the link. It sounds like they are planning a licensed restaurant with a small bar from reading through the application.
    • I think your ISP has jumped the gun - told you about a change that isn't quite here. I agree with suggestion of https://www.aa.net.uk/ - i have been with them since ADSL was invented and found them helpful.
    • I’m younger than you but have received a couple of cheques in the past year or so. And also written one out. Depositing a cheque is actually less of a faff then setting up a new payee or sharing your details. Just open the app, go the section to deposit money and take a picture of the cheque.
