...Yours Guys?

Possibly similar to this thread Tony, but my entries were:

The Beehive in Swindon (speaking of hard sells) - a place that kept me sane for 3 years in Wiltshire

The Fountain in Whimple Devon - I watched the whole of the 94 World Cup in there and had my stag as well - top landlord

Filthy McNasty's in Angel about 10 years ago (another pub which is a shadow if it's former self)

The Porter Cottage in Sheffield

The Half Moon in Herne Hill for Sunday jams and various pills and thrills, Steve Waller Band, Salt (Little Stevie Smith's band), CSA and I remember seeing the UK Subs there before they went punk whose set list consisted of mainly Chuck Berry and Bo Diddley numbers.

The Newlands Tavern (Now the Ivy House) for Doctor Feelgood, Kilburn & The High Roads (Ian Dury), Wilco Johnson and the Solid Senders, Cado Belle and Upp (with Jeff Back and Bernard Purdie in attendance).

Also, the Uplands was a good place for music on Friday and Saturday nights back in the 70s/early 80s although I don't remember seeing any bands there (before my time) and I'm still a regular down the Dog, where I've been going since I was 15.

The Capitol, Forest hill. I know it's shit but you used to be able to get legless for a tenner when I was at 6th form.

The Hobgoblin, again Forest hill. I still smoke but thats the only pub I'm glad they've banned lighting up in.

The Punch and Judy, Covent garden.

Jah Lush: Good memories!....Saw Status Quo 5 times circa 1972 around South London/Surrey circuit while tey were paying their duesB)...One night did 5 encores(including a 5 Song Melody in one of them!)...once went to a weird Quo/Slade Double Bill at The Orchid,Purley where the crowd was split equally between the 2 Groups!

Remember when Francis Rossi was Mike Rossi?

Good to see mention of Stevie Smith-Is he still around?

Blimey! I forgot about the discoteque at Streatham Bowling Alley on Friday and Saturday nights back in the early 70s. First place I hung out at when I first starting drinking and trying to pull the ladies even though I only 14 to 15 years old at the time.
