Your descriptions are, *Bob*, rather spot on!! LOL. However, I disagree with you that the wine was ALL awful. I mentioned earlier in this thread how annoying it was, to find the fridges broken so often. As this will be my local store, I really hope it will be a big improvement on what was.

*Bob* - I hope you will not be too traumatised if the newly revamped Co-op does not have garlic or limes. Having said that, I am incandescent with rage that I did not receive the ?2 off voucher, as I only live a stone's throw from the shop.

I hope that the smell of rat's pee has gone. I also hope that I - a size 8 incidentally - will be able to squeeze through the narrow aisles, without having to take a deep breath in.

Then they'll only have themselves to blame for the broken window.

That'll learn 'em.

It's worse than that, Lizzie - I actually received two ?2 discount vouchers. I'll be raking-in the free goods! (As long as I go make two transactions, naturally)

Interestingly, the marketing people at Co-Op HQ have chosen a rather disturbing image to represent the fresh new look of our fresh new Co-Op.

I'm not sure how to put this, but if (for some reason) I were to be asked to model a penis using only ice cubes and a Granny Smith apple, I think it would probably look something like this:

New improved co-op much better - better range, bread baked on premises (I think). Never noticed the strange smell... Never really was bothered by inability of staff to communicate, fresh veg is better from the Turkish Supermarket 100 yards up the road, still cramped, but I'm hardly doing a big shop in there..... Does what it says on the tin... Expect to be co-operative when there is more than one of you in the aisle.

Just went in today for the first time since the revamp. Thought it was very expensive and no organic stuff apart from milk :(

Produce aside - and it is a shop after all - it LOOKS better. However, I'd have preferred a better range of food. They still do great chicken, so can't complain too much.

The new co-op is a bit cramped and still!! the place is a bit of a mess. I know you have to refil stock and that can be messy with boxes etc, but not all over the floor. And a few days in one of the chiller cabinets developed a leak and there was water running across the floor :(

(As for the grammer and shit, I have been told off by some pesky forumite in the past about my spelling. Rude.)

I understand that what happened is the police were alerted to the state of the place and the fact that there were a lot of burglaries there, and they read this forum to see what was going on(!) and then called in Trading Standards. The staff were (or should that be 'was' - no, sounds wrong, I'll stick with 'were') fired, and the place cleaned up. Crime is being designed out.
It's seriously cramped. More cramped than ever before. Whilst waiting in the queue I see people breathing on the bakery delights - think of this next time you sink your teeth into your cinnamon swirl pastry... I saw a man's dreadlock poke a raisin out of a danish pastry too... :X

    • Hello, I'm from Ireland and would love my children to be able to know the language - I can speak it but I'm not so good at teaching it. If there's anyone local who used to teach Irish at primary school (preferably Connemara Irish) and who'd like to tutor 3 boys aged 7-10 for an hour or two a week please do let me know. Thanks, Sarah
