Opened the door to the police this afternoon. They wanted to know whether I'd answered the door to a couple last week because they robbed someone in my street. I'm in Kelvington Road but I'm sure they aren't inclined to limit themselves to this side of the Rye.

The man is his mid to late 30's, the woman appears to be in her 20's. They claim to be neighbours with a problem with their water supply. They ask the householder whether they've noticed the same problem, then the female keeps the householder distracted while the other goes on the rob. They appear to be targeting older people.

Just be on your guard and if you have any elderly neighbours, please let them know.

This is funny because last week I answered an Ad on the forum for a Juicer, I went to collect it with my girlfriend, we knocked on the door and the guy took a minute to answer, we went in and within seconds there was another knock at the door and it was plain clothes police...they thought we were this couple, apparently they've been targeting older people in the area.

The Juicer is fantastic ;-)

    • As a result of the Horizon scandal it now seems very clear that the Post Office management are highly disingenuous and not be trusted!  There needs to be a campaign launched to challenge the threatened closure, unless the Post Office can demonstrate beyond doubt that the branch is loss making - and even then it could argued that better management could address this. I hope the local media take this up and our MP  and a few demonstrations outside wouldn’t do any harm. Bad publicity can be very effective!
    • Unlikely. It would take a little more than a bit of Milton to alter the pH of eighty-odd thousand gallons of water.
    • It actually feels as though what I said is being analytically analysed word by word, almost letter by better. I really don't believe that I should have to explain myself to the level it seems someone wants me to. Clearly someones been watching way too much Big Brother.
    • Sadly they don't do the full range of post office services
