MadWorld74
If you're into rum, dancing and not caring what you look like, and dressing up in your natty dreds...then come down to this soundsystem on Monday 25th. It's my 7th year as a faithful skanker. See some of you there....? It's an experience not to be missed. The stage sets are, well, mind blowing to say the least. 8. Annasfield
Oh so you're being stereotypical. Cloth caps, hotpots and Rovers are a Yorkshire thing. You probably need to be rude about people from Lancashire or Merseyside in CWALD's case.Maintaing the stereotypical theme, you must be a Pearly Queen Louisa? Or do you have a fella called Riiiiccccccckyy? Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/4040-carnival-time/#findComment-128803 Share on other sites
SimonM
"Hotpots and t'Rovers" are of course Lancashire - well the version of it created by Granada TV any road (I appreciate Liverpudlians find English Geography a bit hazy...). For us in God's Own County though it's flat 'ats, whippets and black pudding.... Annasfield
Well blikin' eck. My Geograhpy ain't three bad but I'd always thought that Corrie was a Yorkshire thing. My Mum used to watch it and I'd made the assumption as a child. Ooops. My point still stands re stereotypes. Keef
I always thought Corrie was some sort of manc thing. Isn't it filmed in Blackpool? Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/4040-carnival-time/#findComment-128811 Share on other sites
citizenED
No, surely Corrie is some Elstree thing with a load of RADA toffs showing they can do regional accents. MadWorld74
Yes Louisa, I imagine everybody DID look at me and laughed out loud! seeing as I was dressed up complete with straw trilby and hawaiin flower garlands. I blagged my way up onto the set/stage and rocked the afternoon away. I must have drunk my own body weight in rum. Great fun.:)) Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/4040-carnival-time/#findComment-128981 Share on other sites
