THEN JJF, WHY??? DO YOU NOT CALL THE DAMN RSPCA AND REPORT IT. OR THE FOX PROJECT, THE NUMBER IS IN MY ORIGINAL POSTING.

DO THE POOR ANIMAL A FAVOUR AND GET IT HELP SO THAT IT CAN DIE IT'S LAST DAYS IN PEACE AND NOT IN YOUR GARDEN UNDER YOUR DECKING!

Why don't you just poison it?

Well if he's getting on and has prostate problems you might as well make use of him, I suppose.

whoa, steady on MadWorld - I admit I hadn't read all of the posts of this thread and yes I will call the RSPCA and report it as I do not want my dog catching another dose of mange. I had no idea that the RSPCA would act on something like this to be honest. I'll also ask them to speak to the old woman who keeps feeding it raw chicken as she doesn't listen to us.

Sorry JJF but I get very upset by some people's lack of sensitivity to this subject, I didn't mean to snap or sound heavy with you. :)

And DPF, your comments whether they were said tongue in cheek or straight down the line in all sincerity, either way I am not impressed. Neither will some of the other posters that have contacted me by PM about 'certain' forumites lack of tack.

Well, literally thousands have pm'd me complaining about sanctimonious posters who want to be told how wonderful they are whilst indiscriminately poisoning local wildlife. I actually do feel sorry for the fox cub, I like foxes, but the reality is that this thread is more about eliciting sympathy for yourself. Its not like you were the one trapped under the decking is it.

is it me or does that sound vaguely threatening? Is the point that a silent army of people are gathering to storm the forum?. If some of us lack tact (I have HEAPS of tack!) why can't posters say so in public. And by saying "certain" posters does that mean anyone who isn't 100% in support of you should consider themselves "in trouble" with this silent group?

You seem increasingly upset by this but it's not clear why - as I said in my first post in this thread I had quite a bit of empathy with the situation you found yourself in the other day, but thereafter it's hard to see what the problem is?

EDF......thousands of people PM'ing you?...

maybe when you go on holiday, you will relax enough to come back and have something nice to say about people. You sound incredibly bitter, if you don't mind me saying so. As for 'santimonious posters', I have no idea to whom your refer.

Lastly I am certainly not wanting to elicit any of your sympathy.

MW74, if you want guaranteed agreement/sympathy, go elsewhere.

A fox died under your decking, and you found it upsetting, and felt guilty because you'd put poison down, but not very guilty because it wasn't your poison that killed the fox. So far, so blah, but this is a public forum and you can post what you want.

Other people post what they think, and you start getting all unnecessary. I couldn't give a stuff about foxes, small, medium or large - are you going to start patronising me based on the number of times I've posted on here, or conduct a behind the scenes whispering campaign? Get a life.

You sound incredibly bitter, if you don't mind me saying so

Well, I don't mean to sound bitter, cold, or cruel, but I am, so that's how it comes out. If only I had a sad story involving me and a dying animal, maybe then people would like me, sniff.

(Edit 16:30 - I admit I plagiarised a Bill Hicks quote. It was a wrong thing to do)

I have in the past posted my thoughts on this forum about others topics, and said what I thought and had people getting snotty with me. Double standards. I say what I think to other people and they get all upity.

Now why don't you all get back to the sujbect of fox hunting. Get your teeth into it.

I'm warning you DPF that I've been pmed by millions of Bill Hicks fans and we will be forming an angry mob and storming Dulwich park to exact suitable vengeance.

Currently suggestions around Satan's scaly pecker and forcing you into a marketing job are under consideration.

Don't worry, we'll send you a memo.

Thanks for brightening up a tiring day at work, made more arduous by the fact I couldn't sleep last night for the wailing of foxes mating in my garden.

What a sad tale of a poisoned fox, which is more important than other species because it is cute, mange, urinating in your own garden, not-so veiled threats to fellow humans, prostate problems, Bill Hicks and a mad lady leaving out raw-chicken. I had an English teacher years ago who taught us there were only 7 story plots in all literature but surely this is a new take on [wo]man vs. nature.
