Too Good To Be True
What's the best way to report a flickering lamp post to Southwark Council? It's keeping me awake. Thinking of blackout lining my curtains, but in the meantime I want it fixed. Many thanks Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/40019-how-to-report-flickering-lamp-post/ Share on other sites

ianr
James, isn't it better for TGTBT to use the established reporting system, and contact you, and tell us, only if it appears ineffective? It's a sorry administration if all contacts between public and officers have to be channelled through a councillor. DulwichFox
You can report a faulty street light online, or by contacting us via telephone or email. You will need the Number from the lamp post http://www.southwark.gov.uk/info/200083/roads_highways_and_pavements/610/street_furniture I have done in the past.. Usually fixed within 2 days. Too Good To Be True
Glad to report the online form works. Based on the Denmark Hill refit cost, I'm sure ?100 is a bargain. I wonder if expenses claimed. Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/40019-how-to-report-flickering-lamp-post/#findComment-709574 Share on other sites
James Barber
Hi unlurked,The problem is very non standard. The Southwark Council processes are ok for standard problems but rarely sort this sort of thing out.It wasn't cheap vote whatever it was just a wish to kill a problem quickly minimising the effort all round. Clearly I've failed in this desire! Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/40019-how-to-report-flickering-lamp-post/#findComment-709595 Share on other sites
unlurked
Hi JB. Sure you wanted to help, but there is ample space on the on-line forms to explain the issue. The telephone can also be used to give details and talk to a real person after doing the press 1 for so and so thing. The call centre costs the local tax payer and is designed for people to report and contact the council and so should be utilised.
