Our broadband stopped working yesterday. I just wondered if anyone else has had a problem in the SE15 - Nunhead area? BT will send out an engineer and fix it (if it is there fault) if not it will cost us ?120 to pay the engineer, so thought I would try and see if there is a general issue first!

My BT Line has been down since Thursday when it was reported.

Broadband is up intermittently but no phone.

Have been in touch with BT but no joy.

I worked for them for 26 years.

They say it is a fault on my premises and want ?129.99.

But if Broadband is up the line must be connected and the fault would seem to be in the Exchange.

    • Anyone doing a renovation soon and want to get rid of an existing kitchen? I'd love to take a couple of units off your hands!
    • Honestly, sounds like the best thing to do
    • Thanks - going to drop the whole thing now…& put it down  to a bad experience.
    • No, you won’t get your rent back for not having an EPC. I presume you’re thinking of  rent repayment order… you’d have to have evidence of an offence such as illegal eviction, harassment, threat, unlicensed property. None of which you’ve indicated.  I don’t see what the problem is with your situation, certainly nothing substantial. If you have evidence of disrepair (including professional report) and you have to have evidence of informing the landlord as well; you’ve mentioned damp but said it’s not there any more?
