Sazzle30
Before you do anything get a damp survey and if you do need work doing make sure:The work is carried out by a Contractor who will fully comply with BS6576 and that they employee a surveyor with CSRT or CTIS CRDS qualifications to carry out the work (and is also a member of the Property Care Association (PCA)). You would also want the work that is carried out to come with a Guarantee which is insurance backed, able to be transferred to any future owner and that the guarantee covers the workmanship as well as the products used and that the same contractor undertakes the new DPC and the associated re-plasteringThis is what we requestred fromn our vendor when we discovered our flat had damp issues that was picked up in our full structural survey (we then had the vendor carry out a damp specific survey to).
