TheePope
I'd like 'Digby, the biggest dog in the world' for future reference. Or 'Beethoven 2'. Basically anything with a big dog in it. Keef
Sorry if I sound like a kill joy, but ?7.50 is steep considering Hornimans do similar for nothing! That said, they are all good films, I've voted for some like it hot, but would be tempted by any of them. lorraineliyanage
I'd be up for some 80s classics. How about 'The Karate Kid'?And I agree that ?7.50 is a bit steep but that's Dulwich prices for you! bon3yard
I'd happily pay the money if you can get Porkies 2 arranged. An overlooked classic. Keef
Is it going to be chairs in rows, or find a bit of grass and crack open a can?I'd prefer the latter by the way.Any chance of Adventures in babysitting? NatashaD
The cost is really high between ?7.50 (plus 50p booking fee) ?10 on the gate. Good grief! Nice idea but too expensive for me, especially as I am a film buff, and I know all these films inside out. Keef
Yeah I did just think to myself "why did I vote for some like it hot, which I have seen loads of times, when I could have gone for one of the others which I've only seen once or twice... Oh well. George Wood
Great film choices - I'm sure I could dig out Beethoven 2!We're actually talking about doing a few themed screenings - such as an 80s classics night (with a choice of Back To the Future, The Goonies, Karate Kid etc)In terms of price - I'm sorry if some of you guys think it's a bit steep, but we're a local company without big corporate backing, just trying to establish something positive for the area. Also the difference between this event and lots of the other versions you get is that the screen we're projecting on to is absolutely enormous (10 metres by 6 metres), and the setting is first rate - great food / drink and film in one of the best parks in London.I hope you give it a go - particularly as I'd be interested to have your feedback, so we can tailor it to exactly what you guys want (maybe not Electric Boogaloo!) PeckhamRose
I LOVE Tony Curtis so to see him all big and fabulous up there is the deciding factor. Some Like it Hot.Having said that, ?7.50 is steep for me too. If you have corporate backing get them to back a bit more!:) Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/3979-vote-for-the-film-youd-like-screened-at-dulwichs-open-air-cinema/#findComment-125694 Share on other sites
Muttley
Great to see events coming back to the park. You have a difficult task finding a film that's well known enough to attract interest, but not so popular that everyone's seen it ten times. I've voted for Tiffanys because it's the only one I've never seen.I don't think ?7.50 is unreasonable for an evening of cinema in such classy surroundings. (Greenwich Odeon is ?8.) Coach Beth
It sounds like a fab event - I'm torn between Casbalanca and Breakfast at Tiffanys! Asset
I agree, ?7.50 is not out of this world - West End cinemas are easily that much if not more. Brixton Ritzy is ?6.50 for an adult ticket, factor in bus fare and it's more.Breakfast at Tiffany's gets my vote as I don't think I've ever seen it all the way through. lordship_bod
i'm definitely up for this. its a great idea. ?7.50 is a bit steep but at least you can walk home after the film... ooh i'd be interested in a themed night for musicals or something.. get the whole park singing...p.s breafast at tiffany's gets my vote.. KidKruger
'Koyanisqaatsi' - seeing as it's a big screen in the open air it would be quite fitting, and perhaps more relevant than ever even though it's 20+ years old. Coach Beth
I'd love to see Sound of Music in the Park - and all of Dulwich singing 'The hills are alive.......' Keef
Agree ?7.50 is not a lot for a trip to the cinema, but that is to watch a film you can't rent out on DVD, or watch at christmas on the telly, and if it rains, you don't get wet. That said, I hate going to the cinema with a passion, and would much rather sit outside (weather permitting), but with all the free screens you get over the summer months,, this seems steep to me. Anyway, didn't mean to start a big thing about the price, wish I'd not mentioned it. I is a nice idea, and I hope it goes well.I'll wait to see what film it is... macroban
Where does ?7.50 come from? I read it as ?8 in advance or ?10 at the gate.
