Hi all

do you guys know about the East Dulwich positive birth group? That's a lovely place to meet other local pregnant women. I think the next one is on March 6th in the evening - there's a whole thread in the families bit about it

Hello ladies

Congratulations on the pregnancies!

I had a spring baby in 2011 and one in 2013 and this forum is great!

I am having a massive clear out and I have joined one of the NCT s nearly new sales (on 8th March from 11 at St Laurance Centre, SE6 2TS if anyone wants to go have a look) and I am only allowed to bring 100 items ... I realized I have over 300!!!

So I am hoping to sell some here - clothes, toys, playmat, reusable nappies, double buggy, swing etc

So if anyone needs anything for a newborn please PM and ask, I might have something I haven't mentioned.

Everything I have is new or nearly new.

Thanks for reading

Hello - yes i'm still around Sun 23rd, 3pm at Clock House sounds good. I've not been there before - i'm assuming we don't need to book?

And Jen - I go to pregnancy yoga at JAGS on a Thurs evening (you can pay as you go if not a member) and i love it! very chilled hatha yoga.

Looking forward to catching up soon!

ladies

I know we don't know each other yet but this popped up in my inbox and I thought it might be a great thing for some new (and newish) moms to do together ... oxfam are having a 'mother to mother' appeal and asking people to host events before 31 March and Oxfam will double the funds we raise. If people were open to rocking up to a stranger's house i would be happy to host an 'in for a penny in for a pound' evening or afternoon tea. Basically we do potluck food and then we donate what we would have paid going out to the cause (plus whatever we might want to add). I've room for about 10-15 of us seated and I do love a good crust-less cucumber sandwich.

I was thinking we could also invite last year's summer babies moms ... they might have some hints and tips for those of us new to this

What do you think?

Morning everyone

I've just found this thread - due mid-August and so later than most of you... I can't do the Friday or Sunday dates unfortunately but am around generally the next few weekends so will keep my eyes peeled for dates going forward.

Thanks!

Kate

Thank you Anita!! Lovely to hear you are expecting your second!!

As Anita said, I am a midwife and I offer group antenatal courses for 1st time parents. If you are looking for a course to gain knowledge on labour, birth and early weeks with your newborn baby and to meet a lovely group of expectant parents due around your dates who live in the area, then do not hesitate to give me a call at 07598 293 625 or email me at [email protected] for an informal chat.

You can also check my website for further details: www.ariadnasole.com

Here you find comments from previous couples who attended the course: http://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/forum/read.php?25,1238496,1238496#msg-1238496

I look forward to hearing from you,

I wish you all a lovely pregnancy!

Ariadna

Hi everyone,

I'm due with my first on 13th August, BrightStar sounds like we're around the same time. I'd love to meet up but can't make this Friday / Sunday. I will come along to future meet ups and keep an eye out for dates in the meantime.

JenWren, have you come across any good Pilates classes on your hunt for exercise? The yoga at Jags sounds good but I'd like to do Pilates too (bad back).

Hope to meet you all soon,

Em

Hi all

I'm sooo sorry but I can't make Sunday now as my husband has a work event & I need to stay home with LO.

I really want to meet you with you all so I'll definitely come to the next one.

I'm not sure how many are keen for Sunday but if it's only a coulpe maybe we should rearrange so more can make it??

Or you go ahead & we get another in diary.

Xxxx

Ps thanks Ariadna, hope you're keeping well x

Hi all,

I'm due with my first on 19th Aug, so Em and BrightStar I'm in the same camp as you! I can't make it on Friday or this weekend either but would be keen to come along to a future meet up, around over the next few weekends, so will keep an eye on the thread.

Thanks and have a good time on Friday/Sunday!

Buffy

Evening all,

I'm due with my first on 3rd August. Would also love to meet up to get to know some local mums/mums to be. Can't make Friday or Sunday either unfortunately but will keep an eye out for the next one. Anyone else doing Ariadna's antenatal classes starting June 5th?

Thanks,

Isabelle.

    • Reeves and Truss have both displayed incompetence. The former can also  be  accused of dishonesty and misrepresentation. However, this all pales into insignificance in comparison to the utter incompetence and stupidity shown by David Lammy.  He accused Donald Trump of being "a woman-hating, neo-Nazi-sympathising sociopath" and a "tyrant in a toupee" plus a "racist KKK and Nazi sympathiser" To make matters worse, Lammy's first decision as Foreign Secretary was to hand over sovereignty of the Chagos Islands to Mauritius. The Chagos is home to the large American airbase that is strategically located in the Pacific and a priceless bulwark against Chinese expansion in the region. There will be a price to pay as Trump in not one to forgive and forget. In reality he is renowned for his retribution on his critics and opponents. For that reason, it would not be surprising if Lammy and Reeves were disposed of in the first cabinet reshuffle.

She also addresses the question of Assisted Dying on which MPs vote next week - Friday 29th Nov. Here's a clip: Check it out, you may want to write to your MP. They have a free vote.
    • From the sign. Turn left up Peckham Rye, turn right onto Barry Road, straight across at the lights onto Eynella Road which leads you to Court Lane and Dulwich Park. You could turn right here and Dulwich Village is at the end of Court Lane. Of course you could stand by the sign and be “Now here or Nowhere”
