Hey everyone...sorry I am joining the conversations a bit late, I have only just seen the post. I am expecting my first baby in June (12th) and it would be great to meet some local mums in the area. I would love the attend the next meet up if possible?! :0)

Good morning Summer 2014 Babies,

I'm just dropping into your thread to remind you that the monthly "ED Birthtalk" session is coming up on Thursday evening. This month we will be discussing Induction, so if you feel that this is something that interests you and you'd like to sit & chat about it with some others over tea/coffee/cake & biccies then please feel free to come along. The discussions are usually lively and interesting, everyone is welcome, and there's no charge. What's not to like :D

Please PM me for venue details, or just come if you've already been before and know where I am.

Thanks for reading this.

Hi girls,

I'm free both the 30th & 6th mornings so happy with either day.

As the 30th is Mother's Day le chandelier might get quite busy so 6th could be better? But I'm easy.

Should we put in a regular meet up, say first Sunday of every month to begin with & this can change to more regular weekday meet ups when we're all on mat leave?

    • Yes, the appointments were scheduled for every ten minutes. And there is no waiting area at all this time  (sometimes for medical checks there they have a very small area inside with 3 or 4 seats). If you have come by public transport, you have to sit on the steps up to the van if you are early,  which isn't pleasant in very hot sun or pouring rain, or else wander round Asda (there's no cafe in Asda, despite it supposedly being a superstore). It's one in, one out. I don't know what happens if you are late, but I doubt they would hold up everybody who came after you in order to fit you in.  There was someone immediately before me and someone immediately after me.
    • NHS subcontractors frequently use supermarket parking areas for CT and other screening. Easy to get to and park. They've done the same at Dog Kennel Hill in the past. Makes a lot of sense. And they ram in lots of timed appointments, so time critical is precisely right.
    • Your evidence for this ridiculous remark is what, exactly? You're on a roll today, aren't you?
    • There is an NHS van in the Asda car park which is a local centre for lung cancer screenings. I'm an ex smoker (haven't smoked for decades but still at risk). My appointment was at 2pm. Any other sarcastic comments? Do feel free ๐Ÿ™„
