????
...I can't face the techie sneerers on the apple forums and their normal FAQs are crap. Airplay icon has dissapeared off all our apple devices - phones, iPods, iPads, iMac......anyone.? Internet, Apple TV, all devices working fine just no sight of that fooking icon Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/39439-airplay-missing/ Share on other sites
StraferJack
What's it air playing to?Ie which express/tv device you trying to send to?Assume you have reset it/them?Failing that, reset routerYes that is quite a "turn it off and back on again" response but that is first port of call Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/39439-airplay-missing/#findComment-704228 Share on other sites
????
Cheers SJ ...I think our zeppelin speakers caused the problem as we took them somewhere else and when I bought them back and tried to connect again...problems. I am going to resort to the turning the router off and onIt,s ( the airplay icon) is just not there on any devices so we have nothing to 'send' connect with etc Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/39439-airplay-missing/#findComment-704232 Share on other sites
Otta
I always just turn router off and on and it has always solved connection issues for me. I'm dead technical me. StraferJack
I've got an airplay receiver on each floor in the house and love the whole thingBut the one on the ground floor (ie kitchen) suffers badly from interruptions/dropouts when the fridge and boiler do their regular throat-clearing. Anyone else get that? Won't be a problem after the new year anyway but just curious if it's common or not Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/39439-airplay-missing/#findComment-704277 Share on other sites

*Bob*
Yes, we had this too 'Jack. Most evident when playing from Spotify to an AE set up wirelessly to extend the network - with the base station located a couple of brick walls away. Solved by connecting that AE to the base station using a powerline adaptor instead of wirelessly. ?15 well spent - rock solid since then. El Pibe
The obvious solution to your woes is to kncok your house down and rebuild it from scratch putting in about 2 miles of cat 6 cabling to multiple data sockets in every room, I'm sure that's workable for most..... *Bob*
Jack/????Worked a treat here. 'Net in the kitchen v reliable ever since and running at full speed. Got some very helpful words of wisdom on here about setting it up too: - Pair the powerlines first as per instructions that come with them - Turn everything off and connect everything together - Switch everything in the chain on one by one in reverse order 'from router out' (which as far as I understand, avoids IP address confusion or some such magic) Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/39439-airplay-missing/#findComment-704295 Share on other sites
