new hairdresser up and running where the art gallery was on north x road. now it seem yet another hairdresser is to open where the mother and baby shop was next door but one. this looks like commercial foolishness as there is already a salon just up the road... and loads more round the corner on lordship lane.

There is a play mat in the salon littered with toys as it is a toddler friendly salon - that's one up on their immediate competitors.

Just to note that it used to be very common for businesses in the same trade to congregate together - hence Milk and Bread Streets and Poultry Lane in the City. It is a way in which 'perfect market' economies can run - when buyers are fully aware of price/ quality and can make informed market choices.

If the new Myla and Davis on Northcross Rd is anything like as good as the one by Herne Hill station, then they will indeed give their competitors a run for their money.
