youandiaredominoes
Hi thereDoes anyone know of any homeless charities or initiatives in the local area. We would like to donate some clothes, food and money to people who need it. EDAus
It is a lovely and rewarding thing to do at Xmas time, in particular the smaller charities really appreciate any assistance. Below are some of the organisations that we know of and support: Hostel at the top of Barry Road - http://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/forum/read.php?29,1112153,1220038#msg-1220038Pecan Trust Foodbank - http://www.pecan.org.uk/our-projects/foodbankKairos centre in SE15, for homeless people with drug and alcohol problems - http://www.kairoscommunity.org.uk/contact/ Veteran's Aid - supporting arm forces homeless people in at Victoria http://www.veterans-aid.net/The Passage in at Victoria helping homeless people - http://www.passage.org.uk/ Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/39368-local-homeless-charities/#findComment-703639 Share on other sites

youandiaredominoes
Thanks EDAus and ratty - very helpful. I had a feeling they existed - maybe we should have a section on the forum where we list local charities or let them advertise? Not sure what the rules are but would be great to give them more exposure Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/39368-local-homeless-charities/#findComment-703676 Share on other sites
lane lover
I can recommend the Passage and Crisis.http://www.passage.org.uk/http://www.crisis.org.uk/The former is based near Victoria, whereas Crisis have centres all over London. Crisis have a special Christmas shelter set up near South Bermondsey station. esme
The Barry house hostel is a very worthy cause, I recently donated toys (they have quite a few children there inc some autistic children who apparently revel in music) but they need more, inc pushchairs, toys and clothing.
