KidKruger
Christine - I don't think that a tree supplier not being prepared to GIVE AWAY their BIGGEST tree to a fire station constitutes being a scrooge !I'm sorry but where does this sense of entitlement arise ? The pensioned, insured, salaried, paid-holidayed, fireman wants a freebie off the street seller ? Are you sure ? Mick Mac
Isn't she saying the Crown House ones did donate a tree? Anyway, who cares. I did buy a little tree from Crown House last night and yes they were very nice. So whether they did or didn't give the firemen a tree, they were nice to me and the kids. Happy Christmas Trees. theycallmetj
Christine, you have already started a thread with the same subject (and pretty much the same kind of responses)http://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/forum/read.php?20,1233145,1233145#msg-1233145I am sorry you feel that way about traders for not giving their products away to public services at Christmas but as others have said, its unfair to make them out as some sort of Scrooge/villain. Yes, it would have been a wonderful gesture but it does not make them bad people for refusing. They could be the kindest but simply have no spare change. You must be a very giving person yourself with that kind of perspective, I hope you have great Christmas. Otta
Just got ours for ?15 from Homebase (about 5ft), well pleased with it.Surely someone looking for a donation would be better approaching a big business like that, than a street trader trying to make money.
