Got this from the TFL people, might be useful for anyone else who uses Vauxhall tube station a lot:

"I am writing to let you know that from Monday 9 December until spring 2015, the Wandsworth Road entrance at Vauxhall Tube station will be closed. This is to enable station refurbishment including a new lift, more ticket gates and ticket hall improvements. This is part of the Tube improvement plan. The Tube station will remain open and trains will continue to stop as usual. Please use the Vauxhall Bridge entrance during this time. To keep up to date with our Tube improvement plan, please visit tfl.gov.uk/tip"

Must confess that I'm not exactly sure which is the Wandsworth Road entrance and which is the Vauxhall Bridge entrance. I usually get off the 185/36/436 and head straight down the stairs by the bus station - so is that the one they're calling Wandsworth Road entrance? Does that mean we'll have to go down those same stairs but then under the subway and somehow into the tube from the other side, as if going underground from the Tesco/Pret side? Hurrumph. Well, they'd better do a better job than the Denmark Hill debacle...
