Vivian2013
Bumbo International has determined that there is a potential safety issue with the original bumbo. This can be corrected in the home by adding a restraint belt. You can request this for free by emailing tomy@responseuk.co.ukI just emailed them and they just asked for the delivery address :)How to install the belt? david_carnell
Is this the safety risk where you've put the bumbo on top of a table or the like? 123lisa
I have used a bumbo chair for my now 11 month daughter for the past 6 months, we have never had a restraint and she has never managed to tip or get out of the seat on her own due to its moulded shape.I think the scare was that a baby would tip it over whilst on a high surface I don't think a restraint would stop this, i would just never leave her in it unattended on a high surface! Gooders79
I think the ability to get out Is really child dependent, my first couldn't get out of the bumbo at all, my second is an effective vaulter despite the moulded shape. It's a risk it can and does happen and the restraint strap may help with this problem. I think putting them on high surfaces is a massive risk having seen how easily some children can get out of them. shaunag
Thanks for this. My first never stayed in it she was so slim. I reckon no2 will be ok without the belt but for peace of mind better to be safe...
