Banksy
Anyone else noticed the strange rise of "papoose man" in ED over the last few months? A direct challenge to the authority and status of "pregnant & with buggy for slightly too old child" woman? SeanMacGabhann
One of their number is a prominent forumite and a solid blokemr Ed - care to step forward? Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/3880-papoose-man/#findComment-121843 Share on other sites
Jamma
The papoose, or sling, is very practical. But I have to say I find it a very emasculating look.I now favour the sling on the back so one can carry your child like a rucksack, much more manly. jumpinjackflash
If a bloke could carry his baby on his front and his woman on his back - now that is manly! Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/3880-papoose-man/#findComment-121855 Share on other sites
citizenED
Or baby on the front and babe on the back! HonaloochieB
Does anyone use the big old Silver Cross prams any more?Much beloved of the 'Mary Poppins' style of nanny.I was reminded of these when I caught Danny Maker the other day and he told of how spotting a mustard coloured one lifted him out of a pettish mood.If one of them caught you a glancing blow you knew all about it. *Bob*
Papooses may look a little sniggery, but not as stupid as carrying something the size of three bags of sugar in a pram that could sleep six, has suspension and a towbar for a caravan.I suspect that half the 'real men' who aint gonna wear no papoose are also the sorts who 'don't do nappies, luv'. cdonline
The talk about prams reminded me of the woman that used to carry her pooches around in one with another group tied to the pram, walking across the Rye. Is she still aound? Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/3880-papoose-man/#findComment-122103 Share on other sites

MadWorld74
why not, as the bambino gets heavier it should be natural that the bloke takes over, after all the woman carries the child for nine months.....that's long enough! I saw Mr C.Ed today with his baby carrier and he looked perfectly at ease. Like going to the gym and lifting some weights.
