Pubs open on Christmas day?

I know it's early but it's our first ED Christmas and the outlaws want to know if there will be a local pub open on Christmas day for a pint. Does anyone have any suggestions or recommendations? I will definitely ask all our local landlords what they plan on doing but your local knowledge and advice is much appreciated.

And - here's the cherry on top - is there anywhere for carolling (and drinking, presumably) on Christmas eve? (Apart from preferably in your own living room, quiet enough not to rouse next door's children). I don't know where this idea has come from, there's no family tradition, just wishful thinking I believe... I believe carols on Christmas day are also acceptable... *rolls eyes*

Thanks in advance!

Thursday 19th December 2013 at 6pm - Carol Singing on Goose Green near the roundabout at the bottom of Lordship Lane.

After their success last year, Goose Green Primary school are holding a Carols on the Green event with the school's children's choir and the Adult community choir. The PTA will be handing out mince pies and mulled wine and all are welcome.

The White Horse pub at the bottom of Nigel Road on Rye Lane is always open at lunch-time on Xmas day and we always have a wonderful time before going home to Xmas Dinner.

Welcome and Merry Xmas whatever you decide to do!
