Suzita
Just wondering if anyone has been into the Vale pub and had food recently? I think they have updated their menu? Its really handy for me but dont want to take a friend there tomorrow night if its not good? SeanMacGabhann
Hi SuzitaI've seen the menu change at The Vale many many times in the last few years which gave me hope the first couple of times but thereafter just seemed like desperation on their part. This COULD be the relaunch that proves me wrong but experience suggests otherwise. Sorry if that's not of any practical help - just a general guideThere are several other places which can be recommeneded butI'm guessing the Vale is your local and you'd rather not travel much? Suzita
Thanks. Ive been there a few times for drinks and thought i might put total faith into the good old Vale and go for food! Just thinking of the beer garden at the back...i may give it a go and see what happens! oggers
Had food there on Friday and (other than the chips) was very disappointed again. Would give it a miss for food if I were you. Rear beer garden is still an okay spot. Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/3879-food-in-the-vale/#findComment-121856 Share on other sites
Ladygooner
I went a couple of weeks ago - quiche and salad - quiche was cheap shop bought - salad average. Friends had burger and chps - looked like the best option Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/3879-food-in-the-vale/#findComment-121874 Share on other sites
Dulwich_ Park_ Fairy
I was dismayed a couple of years ago to find that the fish goujons looked, and, tasted suspiciously like cheap fish fingers. The don't keep the Becks very well either. Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/3879-food-in-the-vale/#findComment-122022 Share on other sites

ratty
Yeah the music was shocking when we were there (up until about 6pm) we then left and had all the neighbours round for beers in the garden! FAB! So if you like your lamb don't expect it to be rare or rare to middling, it'll be burnt to a cinder by the smell of things.
