I read it... it had a historical gist, a family flavour and, it's probably fair to say, was not 'pro'.

Still, water under the (Dike) bridge eh?

on a serious note, a fascinating family indeed mick mac. JFK averted nuclear exchange during the cuban missile crisis and tomorrow people should well consider how different the world would be today without his influence. Nontheless, he was a notorious womaniser, rumoured also to have favoured his son over his daughter. despite his faults he is one of my personal heroes and i highly recommend robert dallek's autobiography 'kennedy; an unfinished life'.

ask not what you can do...

Umm... let's see now... He nearly took us to a third world war with the Cuban missile crisis, err... Vietnam, his addiction to amphetamines and his constant shagging away from home made him a security threat especially with someone as unstable as Marilyn Monroe, who was probably murdered by the CIA. I don't deny that JFK had charisma and I would say that every Irish/American whether they were catholic or protestant probably voted for him but it took an old bruiser like LBJ to bring in some of the most significant legislation in the annals of US history. Kennedy would and could never have done it. The US was well rid of him - saccharine-coating and all.

As for why he got shot there are a lot of theories whether they be conspiracy ones or not and I'm sure you know the ones I am talking about.

    • There  is a dance fit class at Harris girls on a Monday evening 630 pm which I have been going to for years . It is an inclusive class  with a wide range of ages.    The  teacher is Fi and she is amazing and  the classes are lots of fun.   look on the web justdanceuk .com. There are other dance classes  (flowetic )that Fi and the lovely Lizzie runs  at Harris girls too . They also have an event next week which is a bit further- near Penge  which is a day of dance to include  just dance fit, dancehall, line dancing, garage fit and flowetic . Which is also available to book on that website  ( look at the events section) .
    • that’s just been misused first by Faraz and then Starmer. It’s evocative and negative.  But it’s flooding the news today.
    • I didn't realise that either! I thought it just meant division within communities - religious, racial or otherwise.  Yes, it is frightening. The days of the broad church political party are over.
    • So I've done a little more research into the current use of the word, I hadn't realised it had latterly been used to describe anti Muslim feelings. Still don't like the use of the word. These are horrible times and am fearful for the future.
