Christmas Dinner at the Crown and Greyhound

Recommended Posts

Three of us went on a weekday about a month ago. We were the only people inside. The food was OK but took so long to arrive we left before the dessert course. Life is too short to wait an hour between courses. Goodness knows how long a Christmas lunch would take.

Bottom line is:

Nowhere "good" will be open on Christmas Day. Chains( and this is definitely one) know there is a market and will chase it but they will chase it with the same raison d'?tre they always do... Badly paid staff, prepping poorly par cooked food charged expensively

Places that do "good" food? They care about things like time off on Christmas Day, availability of fresh food/ingredients etc. so they aren't operating

The market demands some places be open. The market delivers
