Minitoots
We need to buy a nearly new car and are looking at the best way to finance buying it- is it best to get a loan and buy it or get a hire purchase deal? There seem to be a lot of different options so if anyone has any advice we'd love to hear from you, thanks! ????
You have to do the maths. It,s not a straightforward question.....deposit. Interest rate? Payment terms, etc. I,d assume a loan is better but not with the Krays for example...sorry, you need to do this yourself...... LadyNorwood
Have you thought about leasing one? Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/38309-car-finance-buy-or-hire-purchase/#findComment-702296 Share on other sites
Annette Curtain
A lease or lease purchase where you get to buy the car after a 3 year period, albeit on a further loan is temptingThe main dealer makes a considerable part of their margin on servicing, so if you go to someone like Renault, then expect this part to be substantial. I'd rater snap my own teeth out with pliers than do this again.Personally i've done both, but now purchase what I drive out right. I'd consider a loan and then purchase a car from that money and take responsibility for the maintenance schedule.A good diesel Volkswagen TDI from an auction or private sale is the way i'd go.But it takes a fair bit of work on your behalf. Depends on how much personal umph you've gotAlso what ???'s says above is noteable Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/38309-car-finance-buy-or-hire-purchase/#findComment-702318 Share on other sites
Minitoots
Thanks Annette. WE have done lots of the maths already, ??? and realise how many different options there are - all garages/dealers having lots of different rates depending on what deposit you put down etc. We don't have much to put down as a deposit so really, we'd need to be borrowing the whole amount and so are trying to work out the best place to get a loan from car finance, regular loans, putting it on our mortgage, 0% interest credit card (til that runs out) etc so it's still good to have suggestions from people who have done this recently.
