I have had dealings with James McGinnity and the man is nothing more than a fraudster. Please do not give this man any money for any work. He has ripped me off along with many other people. I paid in cash as this was his preferred payment method (I now know why, its not traceable!) I have reported him to the HMRC as im sure the man doesn't declare his income. I cannot believe that people are still employing this man to do work for them as he does not have a clue. He is no builder!! I've been left with a half finished house and a massive bill to rectify his mess.

He is a liar and should never be believed as he does not live with his Mother and Father. He lives with his girlfriend Emma Cherry and has plenty of money.

PLEASE PLEaSE PLEASE NEVER ALLOW THIS CRIMINAL IN YOUR HOME!

I will be taking James and Paul to court.

They have conned me out of a lot of money and never finished my work.

If anybody can provide me with court case references and issues people have had I would like to bring them to the attention of the judge so this does not happen again.

I've had 169 pictures sent to me of the work that has been completed at the property of someone. I could get these too you. He is on here but hasn't commented on this thread. It's awful. I could cry for him. He has been taken for 56k and has been left with a brick shell. When is a criminal case going to happen for James. He needs to be sent to prison.

Hi All,

If you've been ripped off please log it with Action Fraud - even if it was years ago. If they have a number of reports about the same person/people it will flag up and can then be investigated by the police.

Its only takea 2 minutes and you'll be helping other people avoid being ripped off too.

The website is : https://www.actionfraud.police.uk/

James and Paul McGinnity are now trading as DBM Construction doing work around Kidderminster and other areas. They have managed to get themselves approved by the Federation of Master Builders under their new name! https://www.fmb.org.uk/builder/dbm-construction.html Despite their many, many bankruptcies and criminal convictions for fraud amongst other things. Clearly the FMB accreditation is absolutely worthless these days!

Now his bankruptcy has ended James McGinnity, and his father Paul McGinnity, have set up a Limited Company called Design Build Maintain Limited seemingly to trade as DBM Construction still. The registration is here: https://find-and-update.company-information.service.gov.uk/company/15597589

    • Electrical work can be dangerous, and hiring an unqualified individual can put you and your family at risk. and negate your insurance. A qualified electrician has the training and experience to safely handle any electrical issues, reducing the likelihood of accidents or injuries. With the exception of simple tasks, it is illegal for anyone other than a licensed electrician to perform electrical work. Hiring a qualified electrician ensures that the work is done in compliance with local laws and building codes. Some electricians are being recommended on EDF but here is no indication that they registered with NICEIC or NAPIT.  One is well advised to steer clear of Check-a-Trade which is a marketing service funded by subscription.
    • Didn’t they have a very ‘unusual’ way of allocating council housing which was also criticised in that report and which hopefully has now been changed

    • Was that the the time it took before reporting something like 'Fully charged'?  If so, had you tried checking from time to time before then whether the battery was effective?   It might also be interesting trying the charger again after a week or two, to see how well the battery is maintaining charge.
