Thank you spymun

Congratulations Mother Superior DM

I have been absent from the forum for easter so I am sorry this has not come sooner.

The first glass of laurent perrier sunday morning was an absolute delight. I am really pleased I made it to the end, now bring on the summer and V&Ts in the garden.

Thank you for your support it was good to know others were with me. Every one who did the lent thing I hope youve enjoyed yourself and had a little indulgence as a celebration.

Darling Mr Batdog,

I don't know, I am rather partial to a Riedel Sommeliers Chablis glass myself.

I sound very brave don't I? James will not let me touch his glasses unless he is drinking too - I am a butter fingers who is trusted only with an Ikea tumbler!

Dear D-Mum,

I agree that a Riedel glass is of a superior quality but nothing can beat a swarovski pure crystal http://shop.swarovski.com/is-bin/INTERSHOP.enfinity/eCS/Store/en_GB/-/GBP/SW_DisplayProductInformation-Start;sid=NtmppKzU0tHqKurP7hxzlMXego863ug287E=?Banner_ID=04000781%2e352&DeepProductSKU=626624

of course you'll have to invest over a ?100 for each glass BUT it is worth, otherwise better than a Riedel a hand made Murano glass from the Italian masters http://www.e-muranoshop.com/cat264.php

Wine tastes even better (tu) and for a lady of your "status" it is such a small but compulsory investment...

Darling Batdog,

You know if it were not for the fact that Gordon Ramsays own sommeliers have insisted to me that wine can only be appreciated fully when consumed from a Riedel, then I would concede.

On the other hand, you know there is so much pretention attached to food, I think I would enjoy Champagne with you if I was drinking it from a plastic beaker...

    • The reason why this time it feels believable that it will actually happen is that the council has at last awarded the contracts for the works to BAM Nuttall.

    • One more while I'm here, although more of the way a word is used, and whilst possibly pedantic it really does annoy me!! "Dilemma" Constantly used to describe any tricky decision, but the definition is a decision with only two options, both of which will have an equally bad outcome.  So a choice of whether to have cake, ice cream or chocolate is NOT A DILEMMA!!! See also "Decimate", which means to reduce by 10%, not just general widespread destruction... 😖
    • So sorry to hear this, makes me so angry that some scumbag thinks they can just take someone's transport, freedom, enjoyment away, and there's so little chance of them being caught or punished adequately.  If you haven't already, register it on BikeRegister and change the status to stolen, hopefully if any responsible person considers buying it then they'll check there first.  Report it to the Police - very little chance they're able to do anything, but it's important for the stats, which may eventually provoke action by the gov? Set up search alerts on Gumtree, eBay & Facebook Marketplace, but try to be as generic as possible - often they are listed as just "road bike" rather than the exact model.  I've also printed out flyers and dropped off at local bike shops in case the bike is brought in for repairs, but not sure how worthwhile that was. Hope this helps...
