Urgent: anywhere to buy a birthday cake on the lane ?

Co op doesn't sell birthday cakes that I could see and I don't fancy walking to big sainsbury with a little one in tow , is there any shops on the Lane that sells birthday cakes ?

Try Hursts the bakers or further up near the plough atthe badger bakery, not sure if they have any ready made, but they do a lot of made to orders, so might have some you can by now though.

It doesn't matter if its just a big cake , I considered the deli but they are all cut into slices ready to sell but will try Hirst , thank you . A relative had a baking nightmare so I have been sent to quickly find a birthday cake by 11am:/ .

Blackbird bakery do big cakes and are near East Dulwich station and North Cross rd market today.

Why not make one? Prep time 20 mins, cook 25 mins. get the little ones involved, might be fun?

Thanks all , managed to get a cake before the deadline and saved the day for the birthday boy .

Ended up in Sainsbury after all as the others didn't have a chocolate cake to sell me whole.

I didn't see the message about blackbird until after .

( Ayres sadly is too far ! And didn't have anything including a cake tin to bake a cake ).

For some reason I thought it would be easier to obtain a whole cake easily on the lane but it isn't as they are all individual sizes .
