Many thanks to concerned passers by

Recommended Posts

On Tuesday evening near the Chandelier cafe, an older lady took a tumble and had trouble getting up. As usual in East Dulwich, our neighbourly compassion shows itself and people came running to help. A special thanks to the young lady from Chandelier - you were marvellous. Also thanks to the two chaps with pizzas.

My friend is in King's recovering from a hip fracture.

I love living in ED.

    • As we stop using royal mail we forget - not used it for 5 years then had a letter needed to go to a solicitor I used old stamps I've had for years - no they're not allowed you need posh bar coded ones now- that letters gone into the Ether -I'll try another. Tempted to go back to what I did in the 1980s write  "FIRST CLASS URGENT" on the front underlined and a return address on the back but it'll probably wind them up.

    • The EDF is social media, and it seems to have met its goals of connecting and engaging the local community. The 'media' part isn't a reference to the BBC, it refers to 'a substance that something grows in, lives in or moves through' as a plural of 'medium'. In the sense that the 'something' is people, then it does the job. Whe it comes to the BBC, the 'something' is information. For the most part the contribution has been positive. However, the downsides are driven by anonymity, and have allowed the worst of human nature to surface.
