Hi my name is Hannah. I have recently used the forum to have some work done on my mum's house in Forest Hill. I used a guy called Joe (joey0369) who's a very accomplished handy man. I could not recommend him enough. In the past my mother being a single elderly lady has been ripped off. Joe was very professional and fair with his price for fitting down lighters in the hallway installing a new alarm system and hanging a flat screen television. She was very pleased with the job and then Joe came back to hang a new door and fit New locks. Not only was he very approachable he made my mother feel at ease and answered her questions in a manner she could understand with a break down of costs every step of the way so no unexpected shock with the price at the end.   One thing we agree on FM. I expect that is not new and I remember looking out from a 5th floor over a pavement near Traf Sq 20 years ago and asking what the numerous spots were on an otherwise prestige light grey footpath. Some local authorities put out gum bins but as with all litter just don't drop it. And fag ends. And disposable vapes. And nitrous oxide cylinders!

  What is also happening - I don't know about Sainsbury's as I no longer shop there, but certainly in other supermarkets and with some manufacturers - is that products remain the same price but the quality or quantity is reduced. Just one example: I buy Waitrose Essential tissues, only because they have plain boxes with no branding once they are in use, and I like the colours (blue for the large ones and mauve for the smaller ones). The tissues in the mauve box have recently become so thin that they disintegrate virtually immediately you use them. Same with Cushelle quilted toilet rolls. Well, they don't disintegrate, which would be revolting, but they have also got so thin that it's hardly worth buying the quilted ones. And as for PG Tips ...... 🤬
