Otta
maxxi I know they're calling themselves a gastro oub fir the community, but it doesn't sound like they're aiming for the stand around the bar drinking crowd. Louisa
Great another boozer turns into an organic veggie guardian readers paradise. Can anyone donate a tenner towards my main? tallulah71
Louisa I don't read the Guardian - only students do, generally. I prefer more grown-up news in whatever form. I do however like good food. I don't even go into Witherspoons at the airport...so if sticky carpets and Aunt Bessie tatties are your thing (oh no, you like Pret-a-manger) then no, I for one shan't be shouting you a bit a lamb - sorry. But I will be very happy to report back on my experience. To spare you from the hideousness of all the good food, and that. Louisa
Well I salute you in your endeavour to find 'good food' tallulah (as objective a subject as that may be) and I also respect your 'half glass full' approach to food you are yet to try (unless you are psychic and have foreseen just how great it will be of course). Not to worry about the lack of support for the 'Louisa Lamb Main Fund' or LLMF as I like to call it, I'm sure I'll somehow reach my target of ?10 somehow. Please do report back and let me know how great the food is. I've never been into this Witherspoons establishment you refer to? Is it similar to Wetherspoons? If so I'm down for an Aunt Bessie's roast spud anytime of the day.. I'll certainly be trying that one out next time I'm stuck at an airport :) Louisa. Sue
Tell you what, Louisa, we can go and share a main course and ask for two sets of cutlery and a spare plate :))I'm up for the lamb :)) Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/37874-the-patch/page/2/#findComment-691853 Share on other sites
Louisa
Sue that sounds like an epic event to me. Never been a big eater anyway. Let's hope the portion sizes are upto scratch. We may get the odd look, but I'm more than happy to sacrifice my dignity for a nice bit of meat. Rare or well done?Louisa. tallulah71
Louisa no need to salute me yet, bless you. I'm not in search of anything - just looking forward to a meal with 'good food'. Have you checked your shoulder lately?Enjoy your shared plate with Sue - I look forward to the lamb reviews :)Apologies for my misspelling of 'Spoons....My 'name' is not Tallulah. It's Tallulah71... Louisa
Sorry, tallulah71. More an informality than an obvious typo though. No I've not checked my shoulder lately, I hope it's still in the freezer though because I do love a shoulder of lamb. If not, then I'll have to just wait for my shared plate with Sue :) talking of shoulders have you checked yours? I'm sure there's a sense of humour there somewhere. Just a guess ;) Louisa. Louisa
Judging by the size of the vegetable patch out the back, we may get more odd looks for the carrier bag full of peas carrots and cauliflowers than we would for sharing a main Sue. Maybe we could bring a bag of Iceland frozen mixed veg and ask them to microwave it for us? :) Louisa. Zebedee Tring
Come on, please don't exaggerate. I started reading the Grauniad when I was a student - in c. 1969 - and still read it now. Having said that maybe they'll go down the Palmerston/Franklins route and mask the high-end food area with a few locals sipping pints of mild 'out front' for 'colour' and a dash of authenticity. If the price of their beers matches their food I fear they may struggle to recruit. I have sent in my resum? in the hope of a doggie bag come closing time.eta: Now, if they served the faggot in a crusty bread roll with mushy peas as a bar snack... tallulah71
Sorry for offending all Grauniad readers old and young alike - it was meant in jest just so I could get into a bit of argy bargy with Louisa. No harm intended - I don't read any newspapers apart from the fluffy section in the Torygraph every now and then. take the piss out of me as much you like! ;) Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/37874-the-patch/page/2/#findComment-692682 Share on other sites

davidh
tallula71, you are a snooty tosser. obviously your paltry IQ is below entry requirements for guardian, a newspaper with an honourabal left of centre history. stick to the mail, luv Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/37874-the-patch/page/2/#findComment-692691 Share on other sites
