I'm attempting a crazy crowd-funding campaign. Please see my below. KEEP READING!!!

http://bloomvc.com/project/Helen-Lederer-WTF)

I thought it might be of interest to you and your networks because of some of the rewards I'm offering. (Not sure if you know how it works, but I offer varying rewards in return for a pledge towards the campaign. Do read).

I thought the 'reward' of an after-dinner speech or comedy training would be of particular interest to your networks, friends or company. Or maybe even some morale-boosting comedy presentation with your staff. Wine tasting Ab fab collectables

I'd also be really excited to have your involvement in the campaign! For that reason I'd love to know if there's anything extra I could bundle into one of the rewards as a thank you (could I be somewhere, do something, get involved with a project?).

Have a think , let me know, but the campaign only runs for another 5 days, so drop me an email if you think you might be game.

If you wouldn't mind do forward my request to anyone you think would be interested. That would also be a great help (even a tweet goes a long way).

Helloo! It's me!

If you in any way understood and also felt a stirring to participate below - I would be totally made up and indebted - For ever.

And, if this is inappropriate for a multitude of reasons, then simply disregard. Or kindly pass on - it might only take a second .

Either which way I thank you so much for reading and have a really nice day please

I am so excited to engage in a new, sensible, optimistic yet very do-able way to fund a new project. Something I should have done before but was too feeble and scared. Its my first time to empower you to empower me - if this works it will be a first for a middle aged woman and you will have enabled it. The words win win are no longer pie in the sky..instead of just hoping that my work will get out there to a broader audience , I now know it will? if you would contribute here.

I never thought I would be able to get my head round it, but hey presto! It seems this system could well be a fiscal (not rude ) answer to my prayers and, who knows, maybe your's too. If I make you laugh - you could lose 300 calories and I get my TV series.

Thank you from my heart for your support, for at last making my humour really travel - share the link and drop me a line if you'd like more information.

Lots of love

Helen xx

Lets support our local celebs. As Helen says - and she lives among us in East Dulwich! She needs dosh for this:

LIVE SHOWS

In each show, I shall introduce an eminent star guest, a lover of laughter, a person of political, journalistic and intellectual propriety or indeed anyone kind enough to help me attempt to make sense of it all.

November 7 is Ladies' Night, with journalists Suzanne Moore and Yasmin Alibhai-Brown in not-so-polite conversation.

November 28 is with food critic Jay Rayner, and Radio 4's Front Row presenter Mark Lawson.

And as she says: My bigger goal, though, is ?25,000 to produce a pilot for television and you would be my producers to make this happen.

Every little helps...

What angelabbie just said...

Basically she wants to make a pilot TV show and is looking for someone to pay for it and depending what you pay you get treats in return. ?10 gets you a signed photo, ?100 is a signed ready steady cook apron or for ?1,000 Helen will come to your house, eat your food and share showbiz anecdotes.

Alternatively for ?3.58 + travel expenses. I will give you a tea towel with a photocopy of me stapled to it, come round your house eat your dinner (Note I have fish allergy) and will make up stories about Helen Lederer.

i LOLed....thanks.

No she doesn't own lots of property - just one house in East Dulwich. And she's lived here for many years. This is a serious and sincere request for funding from local businesses and it's exactly what Pablogrande said (minus the pointless sneering). All you have to do is read Helen's link to the crowd funding website. It's not rocket science. She's offering businesses after-dinner speeches (at which she's brilliant!), promotions, morale-boosting, anything - within reason! - for donations.

She's not the only one doing this you know - thousands of small businesses and start-ups around the country are achieving their dreams doing this crowd funding thing successfully. It's a wonderful grass-roots concept - that's sprung up to replace the lack of funding from the grasping and greedy banks - and it's working.

Mainly, it's for her next wonderful show, WTF (What's the Fuss). It's hilarious and entertaining. It's what she does best. And yes, her TV pilot would be a bonus. Again, it's incredibly funny and needs to be made. And she's working flat out and extremely hard to achieve this.

Helen's one of our East Dulwich treasures, so let's at least treat her with respect.

Thanks bugdug, wasn't meant to be pointless sneering was just trying to help decipher a badly explained concept with a bit of attempted humour, I should obviously stick to the day job as I'm not the one getting my door bashed down by TV execs offering me my own show.

Neither is Ms Lederer's by the sound of it...

Helen's got this show by her own bloody hard work - Suzanne Moore and Yasmin Alibaya-Brown for the next one, and previously Mark Lawson (see http://www.stjamestheatre.co.uk/events/helen-lederer-asks-wtf/). And it was brill. No TV execs are bashing her door down. If only.

So why don't you sneerers go away, and allow some business people to give her a leg up, and get something worthwhile in return.

Pablogrande, I didn't think you were sneering at all, I thought you explained it in a rather humorous way and Buddug is taking it in the wrong way, that is too seriously :/

Thanks for explaining it PG.

I am grateful to PG explaining it, but there was no need to sneer at what Helen was offering. That's just cruel. Anyway, onwards and upwards. I know there are people in East Dulwich who could benefit from this! Come on, let's be positive. Come on ED business people - do you want to share in this wonderful venture?
Well, Helen is bowing out of this thread. Thanks to all for cluttering it up with your inane comments and sinking it. Most unhelpful. But thanks to the lovely Lady Norwood for contributing! Helen is delighted and will be contacting you shortly. And was thrilled by angelabbie's offer. It's sad, really, but luckily her crowd funding bid is gathering apace. It's just a shame East Dulwichers weren't able to help one of their own, and decided instead to put their own terribly witty comments above what should be something worthwhile. Helen's lovely, and genuine, and didn't deserve this.
