I think they have changed their rounds and roundsmen (again!). Certainly as regards those coming from Sylvster Road. It will settle down soon, I hope. The people who staff Sylvester Road I have always found to be very helpful when asking about missing post.

Just received a first class letter that's taken 6 days to get here.

I mentioned it to the staff in Sylvester Rd when collecting a parcel, and their reply was "It's because it's changed from Nine elms to Croyden. They're no use at Croyden"

Well, this may well be the correct reason, but it strikes me as a very unsatisfying one. Is there anyone from "Croyden" out there to reply?

Thanks for replies and for advice. Our mail is still missing will give it a few more days before we check with folk at Sylvester rd.

Last week I did not see a postman/woman for three days.

They used to come down my road 9.30. then 10.30

Mail now comes around about 13.30 - 14.00

Different people all the time.

Been hit and miss ever since our regular postman (was his name Colin)? retired.

I suspect that delivery to adjacent doors / streets is a large part of the problem, as this has been happening to us (Landcroft Road) on and off for the past few years. I religiously re-deliver, usually one or two doors either side, but sometimes to the same house number in an entirely different street.

Problem is, how many other folks re-deliver? Seriously, I can imagine plenty of mail hitting the doormat of people who won't do that. I've known past neighbours just bin it, which is a disgrace. Perhaps delivery accuracy, and whose doormat it hits, are a part of the problem here.

I second what "The Minkey" says too. Anything not reported to Sylvester Road isn't helping the situation. If they're inundated with accounts of lost / delayed mail, it will soon improve!

    • Yup. And it was this reaction that caused OP to be told they were over the top, and for other adults to laugh at OP. 🤷‍♂️

    • Thanks for taking the trouble to do the calculation.  To be honest, it’s never occurred to me to report it online.  I’ll have to look into it.  I’ve just spoken to the ‘helpline’ and, after listening to ten minutes of some, admittedly, not too disagreeable jazz music, eventually got through to the call centre.  After a lot of to-ing and fro-ing, during which the operator was clearly reciting from a script, the essential question of why I continue to be billed by the RV method, despite their insistence on fitting a meter three years ago, went unresolved.  At first they couldn’t confirm whether I had a meter at all (not their department) but then agreed that I do have one but that it’s ’inactive’ (despite clearly recording usage as detailed above). I was told to contact the ‘meter department’ separately on a different number (Mon-Fri only) and was then asked if I wanted to sign up for various ‘pensioner’ benefits, none of which I understood (probably because I am a pensioner) before being asked to provide ‘feedback’, which I politely declined.  Looking forward to listening to some more jazz on Monday morning though.
