Wannabe Florist looking to assist and shadow

Hello,

My name is Jem and I am currently trying to change career from Mental Health Advocacy to Florist. Obviously this is no easy task but I am attending a leisure floristry course at South Thames College and have just completed hand ties and I'm starting on Christmas designs in a couple of weeks. I have some sort of knack for it and learn quickly but would love to get some more experience. A friend of mine has trusted me to do her wedding also which will take place in December. I am looking for trusting florists to let me assist and shadow them at weddings and events or in their shop. I am happy get my hands dirty, I'm very organised and good at making people smile (or so I'm told) so I hope it would be a mutually beneficial experience for us both. I have photos of some of the pieces I have put together for my class and would be happy to send them to you so you can judge for yourself.

  What is also happening - I don't know about Sainsbury's as I no longer shop there, but certainly in other supermarkets and with some manufacturers - is that products remain the same price but the quality or quantity is reduced. Just one example: I buy Waitrose Essential tissues, only because they have plain boxes with no branding once they are in use, and I like the colours (blue for the large ones and mauve for the smaller ones). The tissues in the mauve box have recently become so thin that they disintegrate virtually immediately you use them. Same with Cushelle quilted toilet rolls. Well, they don't disintegrate, which would be revolting, but they have also got so thin that it's hardly worth buying the quilted ones. And as for PG Tips ...... 🤬

  I used No-Flies a couple of years ago. They were great. Loads of recommendations on here.
