steveo
It's OK. The one at the Plough isn't. But where does the council get off allowing a thing of beauty like the right hand side of the hospital to be knocked down, then green lighting highly 'individual' murals all over the manor? And if there was general consensus that we all hate the thirty foot tall mad hatter bee/ant, who's going to scrub it off? steveo
Oh, silly me. I rather naively thought one needed permission. Does that mean anyone can paint anything anywhere? LondonMix
I think you just need permission from the owner of the building. My guess is the Patch has given consent. I like the street art we've got in general but I think this one isn't good. Fatuous was the perfect description. steveo
So if I give myself permission, I can paint a picture of my cat's arse over the front of my flat? mynamehere
yes I imagine you can if you get the okay of the owners and residents. Interestingly that is a favourite of Vladimir Putin as well Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/37472-pellatt-road-mural/page/2/#findComment-688337 Share on other sites
Coolcat
I went to see the mural going up and spoke to the artist himself, what a cool guy! He is all about vegan food, equality and contentiousness - that's his philosophy. I love what he is all about. I guess the owners identified with the artist in the idea healthy eating. Apart from this - loving all the murals in Dulwich - they give a bit of light in the dark of the winter, finally we have some cool pictures to look at. It's based on part of a picture in the Dulwich Picture Gallery.A somewhat obscure part of the picture, admittedly. Jah Lush
Peckham. Or should I be calling that Bellenden Village? It's what is now called The Victoria Inn - or whatever they are calling it this week. Earl Aelfheah
"what is now called The Victoria Inn - or whatever they are calling it this week."... to be fair, (at least as far as I can remember) that pub has only changed names once in at least the last decade.
