with hind sight I wished i has stayed quiet and watched them from my window

they couldnt see me, but just to watch what their next move would be.

if it happens again i will try this, they are very daring this was 12.58

and lots of people about

take care be vigilant

lynne

no gus i dont

it was a nice car and as it pulled away it gave a loud roar so i think it had a largish engine

i might recognise the one who knocked on my door though, it wasnt a hatchback it had a boot

and quite large rear lights, as i am on a corner it turned it fast and my privet hid the number plate

i had heard via police similar events in merton and dulwich borders today

and poor lady in upland road J27s post only 3-4 minutes from me abandoned car i was wondering if it was the same one. never saw a van but there could have been one

keep vigilant

lynne

Its probably better that you scared them off - the outcome of just letting them carry on almost certainly wouldnt have been good. I was woken in the middle of the night a couple of months ago and witnessed a number of young men behaving suspiciously out in the street and after a while of watching I called the police apparently they had stolen a motorbike from further down the street and disappeared down an alley - the police were out searching already and my call focused them on their whereabouts. They may or may not have caught them but they had also used their own car - a decent looking VW. Id be curious as to how far people are travelling to undertake these thefts
Upland Road has a Neighbourhood Watch group. PM me if you want your name added to the mailing list. The local Sergeant is Stewart Turnbull and contact for non emergency is: [email protected] 020 8721 2447. The main thing for NW is to not turn away if you see something. Don't think you're noisy if you're curious. Proper locks and windows. Lights that go on.

My feeling was it all went quiet after the riots in 2011 - were troublemakers all in prison?

Maybe it's going back to pre-2011.

Just an update, we had an attempted break in in Sydenham last night and I managed to scare them of. The police came round shortly after and mentioned a silver Subaru who had broken in somewhere in Beckenham early. I have just made the police who dealt with us aware of these and the car link.

Good news.yes. Bad news. caution and free tickets to Alton Towers from the court.

A friend was burgled over in Herne Hill yesterday. Barstewards smashed the bay window in, luckily she and her 7 week old baby were out, but she's pretty shaken. How do you secure your house though if they are going to smash a large glass window in the middle of the afternoon?

i do hope it is the same ones

i would feel much happier with them out of the way

but this is what they do,they skip from one borough to another

to evade capture

unfortunatley they dont throw away the key when they lock them up

IF they lock them up

well done boys and girls in blue
