Millhaven
Not sure who is responsible for the 'Absolutely Dulwich' freebie magazine but I only hope their sponsors are paying them well. Stylish looking? Asolutely, yes it is. Intelligent? er no it isn't. Elegant? hmmm..it is possibly, but it is filled with absolute dreck. Will 'Absolutely Dulwich' end up in my recycling bin unread? Absolutely. Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/37230-asolutely-nothing/ Share on other sites
KidKruger
Absolute Bollox. As it completed it's journey from my front door mat to the big blue recycling bin in the sky, I noticed as it tumbled to the bottom the words (something like) 'the ethical question' as the lid slammed shut and vaguely in the back of my head the sound 'FFS' echoed. uncleglen
I swear that bloke on the cover of Southwark Life was sweeping the road and drinking a can of K cider one morning last week! Ron70
I can't really see what there is to complain about. Even if there was only one article of interest to you, surely that would make it worth having a flick through?... and it's free. I like it... Millhaven
You're having a laugh! It is a complete waste of paper. I get enough rubbish dropped through my door as it is. Ron70
Maybe you should leave a notice on your front door saying "no free post thankyou" or similar? Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/37230-asolutely-nothing/#findComment-685978 Share on other sites
Millhaven
Ron70 Wrote:-------------------------------------------------------> Maybe you should leave a notice on your front door> saying "no free post thankyou" or similar?I have considered that. However, I am put off by the aesthetic of having such a note on my door. Plus I believe it sets an unfriendly first impression. Not to mention that *some* unsolicited post is quite handy, i.e 'local electrician' etc. First world problems eh?! kittenheels
I like it. Nice design, interesting content that's mostly relevant to the 'hood, a bit of property porn - and it's free. Why grumble? Dopamine1979
I got a copy shoved through my letter box too. It says it costs ?3.95 on the cover? Are they selling it somewhere? jimmyraj
I love the interviews with the estate agents in Absolutely Dulwich, particularly the picture spread of the two rotund, besuited agents strolling through Goose Green and talking about what an edgy, creative area it is Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/37230-asolutely-nothing/#findComment-686701 Share on other sites
Earl Aelfheah
Yes, I noted the ?3.95 printed on the cover. I assume that they are giving it away free to start with, in the hope that they can start charging once they have you 'hooked'. If so, I'm not sure it will be too successful a strategy. Millhaven
At least 'Absolutely Dulwich' is good for at least one thing and that is getting to find out if we have famous neighbours. I've been rehearsing what I am going to say to Olivia Coleman when I eventually bump into her for weeks.
