Sue
Don't give up!It may just need to dry out naturally. When did you spill the water?I spilt wine all over my partner's laptop, there was a hideous noise and it stopped working, including not turning on. I was told by a computer "specialist" that it was beyond repair (for which advice he charged me thirty quid). I had to buy my partner a new laptop :(I gave the old one to somebody for parts. He took it apart and cleaned it (only because wine is sticky, you wouldn't have the same problem with water), and apparently it is now working absolutely fine. DulwichFox
Water damage can have variable results..The Main problem / damage is done when turning on the device before drying it out. What ever the outcome, it should be possible to recover your pictures from your hard-drive.I do not have the necessary Leads to do that task.As suggested earlier, try Netquest.DulwichFox Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/37223-spilt-water-on-laptop-doesnt-work-help/#findComment-685671 Share on other sites

Obviously it depends on whether any permanent damage has been caused. That's why I said it MAY just need to dry out naturally .....Dear oh dear.ETA: It may, of course, be completely f****d, but let's look on the bright side to start with, shall we? DulwichFox
The most common problem with water damage is obviously the Keyboard. A water damaged keyboard is virtually impossible to clean / repair. A new keyboard can usually be fitted. Average cost ?65.00 Foxy Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/37223-spilt-water-on-laptop-doesnt-work-help/#findComment-685695 Share on other sites
