East Sussex Recommendations

I'm interested in finding out if anyone has recommendations of things to do in East Sussex that are food related (farms, breweries, food markets) or just anything interesting to see and do in the area, especially for a small group. Specifically near Gun Hill or between it and Lewes. Also I'm interested in beach recommendations, on the quieter side.
