Hi all

After a very long time on the waiting list we've now been offered a place... Does anyone have any thoughts they'd care to share on this nursery (by pm if you'd prefer). Taking the slot would mean taking our little one out of their current nursery (which they love, but lj is much closer to home and cheaper) so Id really appreciate advice as this is an important decision for us

Thanks!

I got offered a place recently as well after 2 years on the waiting list. I declined as I pointed out to them it was 2 years too late and she was well and truly settled where she is now. With only 1 year left before school I really didnt see the point in unsettling her. And I had been very disappointed with the level of (or rather lack of communication) from them in the last 2 years having initally been told we would have a place within 6 months

Just to add also that from a financal point of view it didn't really make any difference.

We put ourselves on their list when our kid was born, about two and a half years ago, paying the 20 or 25 quid fee (can't remember how much) and are yet to hear anything. Chased them after a year or so, they said they would come back to us, then never heard anything. We went with a nanny share in the end, but the principle of paying a fee for zero service in terms of hearing anything from them really grates.
My daughter is at little jungle and we are very happy with it... Their response to waiting lists does appear to be poor as I've heard this from a few people but once in, it's very good and has a real community spirit. I've moved out of the area and decided to keep my daughter there because I can't imagine finding a nursery locally I will like as much.
It's a lovely nursery. Our son has been there for a year and is very happy there. We like that it's small so has a "homely" atmosphere. The staff are wonderful and some great activities are arranged for the children. Feel free to PM me if you have any specific questions.

Thanks all for the advice - my daughter had a play date there today and seemed to have lots of fun so I think we will take the place (tho yes I agree it grates about the waiting list issues)

I'm massively nervous about moving her from her current place (feels like the biggest decision ive made in her life so far!) but she's only been there nine months and is a very confident little lady so hopefully the settling in wont be too tough.

    • Suggest all eyes kept on this tree until Gala event completely over this year. Also monitor for further branch lopping. If they keep hacking off branches, it will get diseased. It is entirely possible this tree could 'accidently' get cut down because of a mixup.  In those pictures, if recent, the tree does not look diseased at all. Not sure location of tree in relation to new proposed increased Gala event footprint? Does it get in the way of proposed track, or something?
