But if there is no one there to know that the world exists, it may very well not. You?re playing with the very existence of existence there, stop it. It frightens me.

There is a difference between saying "wait a minute, why don't we ease of on the accelerator even if we are in the speed limit - there seems to be a lot of oil on the ground" and "Stop the car! Stop the car!"

I think there is merit in people not having children - probably a small percentage will opt for that route but clearly at current rate of population growth, the globe will give up the ghost eventually?

I wouldn't rule out an eventual cap on family size either - I see nothing intrinsically unfair about it - for the same reason.

I think people that don't have children should have a collective responsibility to take on the financial burden of those that do!

So, if each CHILDFREE person on here would like to make a contribution to my boys nursery fees from next January please PM me!

Go on , pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeez????

Ratty - I already to contribute to your children's education by paying taxes (unless of course you go private and then don't need my contribution!)

Edited to add - sorry in retrospect realised this seems a bit pious - maybe I should have added a :)

My children will be scrapped????? Oh, I see! :D

Had a half hour of play with my one year old before work this morning. He is learning to walk and pelted across the front room, gaining speed before nearly falling splat on his face (his elbows just saved him).

Yes - having children, for me, is the BEST THING EVER!

I find children, babies and pregnant women utterly repulsive - it's almost verging on phobic. I'm staring to think it's an evolutionary thing... like the world is so over populated that now some people are born to inherently not want children.

People always think I'm exaggerating or that I will "grow out of it" (I'm close to 30 now), but really, I can't stand children. It's like a parasite that feeds off of you for 9 months, then it comes out of your vagina (the average baby weighs 7.5lbs!) and you're expected to look after it and buy it stuff for 18+ years. NO THANKS!

I'm going to stick to cats. All babies look like Winston Churchill... but you's be hard pressed to find an un-cute kitten!

    • A random post, but I was just wondering if anyone was friends with my late father Mr David Bryan? I had a pretty broken relationship with him, but I would love to connect with any of his former friends. He lived on Waldram Park Road, Forest Hill for many years, but also used to live in East Dulwich on/off in the late 90s. He used to use the bookies/betting shops in Forest Hill quite a lot. Unfortunately, he passed away suddenly in September 2015 but I hadn't seen him for several years prior to his death.
    • Thank you, that's what the bus driver said when I handed it to him. It is how I was raised.
    • I am really not finding your comments at all helpful. Could you just please stop comment you are upsetting me. I finally received a telephone appointment on 1st April. I am in pain. After a number of questions from the GP, I am told I need to be examined. Nearest appointment slot almost a week away. Attended the appoint. Told I need hospital tests. the day after the referral I visited the clinic and explained I was in pain and could i have an appointment. Was lucky as there was a cancellation. I attended, now I have to wait for the results to be sent back to the GP. Nothing showing on My Chart so I guess i will have to continue to wait. On Monday it will be a month since I last raised this problem.
