Urgent: boarding up after burglary

God, can you people not read? I found it odd that someone would go online and ask for someone to board up a window, rather than either a) doing themselves, b) asking a few other neighbours for help or c) using Google or the Yellow Pages. As it happens, no recommendations came in, so it was all a bit pointless, wasn't it?

And hey, I'd just been called an odious little sh1t and a heartless bastard, so being sarcastic about their abilities with English seemed like a good response.

Adtfh, could do with you on my road! Burglaries in ED remain consistent

http://www.ukcrimestats.com/Neighbourhood/Metropolitan_Police/East_Dulwich

When we were burgled I was lucky they had just forced the front door, no broken windows. Stupidly I had not double locked as was just nipping to the Lane and in the fifteen minutes I was gone the industrious thieves had disconnected and boxed up the PC, it was holding the door ajar when I returned.

I called the police but didn't want to risk giving the burglars more time so I shouted upstairs, could hear them rifling through rooms, that the police had been called and for them to GTF out if my house. Two young males ran down stairs shoved past me and legged it down the road. They got away with some cash but left everything else they'd put onto a duvet cover ready to whisk away, which was lucky as we would not have been insured because I had failed to properly secure the house.

Don't think trading insults is helpful - lighten up people.

Actually no, Chick Pea, you really don't want alldownhillfromhere on your road. I am pretty sure I know exactly who she is. If I were to say ASBO Croxted Rd, would that mean anything to you, alldownhillfromhere? If I'm right, and I'm positive I am, you are indeed an odious little shit and a heartless bastard.

    • I've not had any success over the last three years.  Repositioning it this year.  I heard of some twitchers homing in on a nest as they could hear a swift, only to find out that it was a recording which attempts to lure swifts in.  We only have a small number above Horniman Gardens.  I've seen them close to ground in Sydenham and Clapham  I think half the issue is disruption in and from their wintering grounds where there are less favourable conditions than in years gone past.
    • We got Leon back to wire in our new oven. He is excellent: responsive, friendly, does a good job, and happy to take small jobs. Highly recommended! +44 7707 925039
    • It’s been closed for several months, I think.
    • I've not posted any restaurant reviews here for a while, but with the long Easter weekend approaching I thought I'd serve an update. I recently reviewed The Palmerston and elsewhere became involved in a debate about the best pub lunch in SE22. So which ones do readers here currently rate?  Yes I know people can just do a search for "Best pub lunch" but as well as new eateries popping up all the time two of the places I've reviewed – EDT and Bishop – have had a reboot since I reviewed them so I'm interested in hearing how they are doing now.
