TJS
I sadly read about burglaries on this forum and really and i am in the mind set of expecting it, rather than not. Does anyone know of any current neighbourhood watch schemes...and if so where are they. Failing that surely with the forumites we can form a very strong ED watch. Maybe a new section on the forum landing page wholly dedicated to "Neighbourhood Watch". What are everyone's thoughts? Can this work? will it help tackle and reduce this? Can we name and shame people and ensure the police leverage this forum to get clearer messages out to our community? MDoherty
Good morning TJS I live in Playfield Crescent and we have recently set up a Neighbourhood Watch scheme. Get in touch with Darren Weems at East Dulwich and he will be able to help you. His email address is [email protected]. Good luck. cicelyl
I think this is a great idea. We were burgaled not too long ago. It is not pleasant. Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/3613-neighbourhood-watch/#findComment-112779 Share on other sites
Siduhe
There a quite a few active Neighbourhood Watch schemes in ED already. I made contact with our local organiser via the Safer Neighbourhood team for the College Ward (where I live). Work out which ward you are in and email the relevant address. Also, you can normally get a discount on your home insurance if you are an active member:http://www.met.police.uk/saferneighbourhoods/boroughs/southwark/saferneighbourhoods.htm Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/3613-neighbourhood-watch/#findComment-112784 Share on other sites
Nik
Following the recent burglaries in The Gardens and surrounding area, the Peckham Rye Safer Neighbourhood Team have organised a meeting on Monday 21st July at 7pm to form a Neighbourhood Watch Scheme in The Gardens. Don't know if that's near where you live but may be of interest to some on the forum - its to be held at Harris Girls School.
