fromthedarkside
I found a kitten this morning in SE13 6XX (Lewisham/Catford Borders). We've just got back from the vets. She's microchipped and the vet is trying to contact the person who originally registered her. I couldn't get a full postcode, for obvious reasons, but she was registered at an SE22 address under the name of Isis in mid June. She's had a quick health check and appears to be well. The vet thinks she's 4/5 months old. She's very affectionate and I'm guessing that her owner is missing her. She's a beautifully marked tabby cat, with a patch of white under-chin. She's very affectionate, confident and well socialised and I'm guessing that her owner is missing her. If you know anyone who was selling, or giving away, a litter of kittens in June/July or anyone who has recently moved from SE22 to SE6/SE13 (I have had my flat described as being in Rushey Green/Hither Green/Catford or Lewisham Park) can you please contact them and let them know that if they can help re-unite owner and kitten to contact The Animal Clinic on 020 8967 0857. They have onward contact details for me and I'll be checking progress with them daily. She has come home with me for the time being because I've put up lots of posters in local shops and on lamp posts, registered with other local vets, Lewisham Animal Welfare and the Findapet website but I can't keep her for much more than the end of this weekend. I'd hate to have to put her forward for re-homing when she's obviously well cared for and much loved.ADMIN - I know that this forum is very well organised and that posts put on the wrong page are moved. Please move this if I've posted in the wrong place.Thank you Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/36083-east-dulwich-kitten-found-far-from-home/ Share on other sites
KPR
Hi does the cat have a green collar? Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/36083-east-dulwich-kitten-found-far-from-home/#findComment-676433 Share on other sites
fromthedarkside
No, no collar. Sorry. Hope your green collared cat turns up soon. This little madam is delightful (throwing herself kamikaze style at walls in pursuit of moths from the back of the sofa) and I keep thinking how much her real guardians must be missing her. singalto
Could the kitten not have lost the collar? Doesn't the microchip give the full details of the owners? elloriac
Singalto, the OP said that the vet is trying to contact the owner via the chip details. fromthedarkside
singalto/elloriacI'm just taking every avenue of opportunity available to reunite this lovely cat with her owners. The vet is doing the microchip thing and I'm doing the social media thing. The posters and talking to people is doing the old fashioned word of mouth for those not into the social media thing. I can't, for personal reasons, take her on if we (me, the vet, twitter, facebook and local forums) can't find her rightful guardians then at least I'll know I've done everything I can. I've had a few lovely friends letting me know that they would like a cat as delightful as she is. So it looks like I have a plan B. Saffron
singalto Wrote:-------------------------------------------------------> Could the kitten not have lost the collar? Doesn't> the microchip give the full details of the owners?Yes animals can easily lose tags and collars. That's why it helps to keep your details up to date if your pet is chipped. The legal guideline is that the vet is not advised to give out the owner's details to non-owners, but they do have the discretion to release the lost animal back into the care of the person who found it while the vet tries to contact the owner. xx Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/36083-east-dulwich-kitten-found-far-from-home/#findComment-676526 Share on other sites
KPR
I was curious as there is a picture of a lost tabby cat on Shawbury road SE22. I think the one in the picture is actually a boy though so don't think this is the cat in question. singalto
fromthedarkside I think you're brilliant making so much effort over the kitten. I know how hard it was when my cat was missing. Thankfully, I got her back. I hope her owner gets her back very soon.
