What does his journal say? Are there observations about his speech? You should have access to all observations and the journal. We were told that this is a legal responsibility of the nursery.

If the team has a concern, the key person / team leader / manager should approach you, not just any member of staff. Accusing the parent on the basis of assuming that you don't talk to him in the right manner - it sounds very unprofessional to me. I would be furious if someone did that to me.

If they had a real concern based on observations, they should present you with an IEP, an individual education plan. You should be part of discussing how you can work with your son. What have they suggested to you? Speech and language therapy?

From what you describe I get the feeling that this nursery is not managed well, even though I don't know it. You should request observations and an IEP - if they can't provide you with this, I would be very worried. Not to mention the accident: this is a very worrying story in itself. Just my gut feeling.

We were there just over nine months and pulled our daughter out as soon as we could. Lots of little incidents followed by a fairly major one (in our opinion) feel free to pm if you like.

I definitely would not recommend and would totally agree that the management is not great and when my child attended there were numerous staffing issues.

Alarm bells rang for us too and we couldn't be happier with our decision to pull our child out, I got to the point where I really didn't feel comfortable leaving her in the building.

    • He/she followed me and my friends quite a long way along the road so we worried they might be out of their catchment area. Quite dusty paws which also made me think perhaps they’d been roaming away from home for a few days. Took photos in case anyone is missing them! Very pretty, friendly long-haired black and white cat, leopard print collar, pink paw-print metal tag. They eventually stopped following us across the road from Mrs Robinson.
    • I took it to mean that he was going to present all sides of the argument (for want of a better term) rather than just giving his own opinion. I didn't take it to mean that he was calling "his own views" balanced.
    • I just did this survey. There are a number of problems with it. For example, in at least two questions you have an option "other, please specify" but there is no way to specify what the "other" is. Also, you have several questions where if you have nothing appropriate to answer, you get a statement "this is a required question", or words to that effect, so you have to put in something like "nothing" in order to move on. Can I suggest that this is likely to confuse people so they just give up half way through? Maybe you should test it out on a few people before going "live" with it?
    • I went to Brockwell Lido on a hot day last summer to do some lengths. It was busy.  I kept getting other people's hair, which was floating around the pool, tangled in my hands. It was gross. I'm not sure if that was unusual, or if it's always like that on a hot day.
