Beautifully rendered, subtle charcoal drawing of swirling waters, sea or ocean by
Nancy Mayhew Youngman OBE (1906 - 1995) was an English painter and educationalist trained at The Slade School of Fine Art. Youngman is remembered primarily as a painter , but from before the war to the mid-1960s she was an influential figure in art education, as a teacher, an author and an impressively efficient organiser of exhibitions
She was a member of The Women's International Art Club WIAC, The Artist's International Association AIA and exhibited at The Royal Academy.

Signed by the artist in pencil bottom right "Nan Youngman 1983"

Medium: Charcoal
The frame is painted silver over wood. It has some marks of age but in good condition otherwise.
Framing by Heffers Gallery Cambridge.
 
The outside edges of the artwork have some foxing (see photo) but the main image is clean and in good condition.
A mount could be placed around the drawing and would obscure the foxing.
