My bin was also missed, and fyi I have filled in numerous missed bin collection forms before, as I also did last night, and none of them have ever been actioned on. Total waste of time letting them know. I still do it though, for my own satisfaction.

The brown bin hasn’t been emptied for two weeks now. The message on the Southwark missed collection service page says they couldn’t find the bin. It was with the green bin and the food waste bin, in the same location it has been for the last 10 years.

Thanks and 😅 to last post

I'm sure it's me having computer brain fog, but I noticed other posters had replies to their missed bin reports but I've never had an answer even though I've reported many times. I know it says they get back to you but where and how?

My food bin was not emptied for two weeks, put in a form week one… nothing happened, tried to put in a form week 2, but was told on the phone I had to wait until after 4pm. Put in a form after 4pm , nothing happened so put in an official complaint on the phone and finally two weeks worth of smelly stuff collected.
I hadn’t noticed week 1 that it had not been collected, only knew as the local foxes worked out how to open the brown food caddy…spreading uncollected waste all over my front yard…so I was annoyed on several levels.
My other bins are casually thrown halfway across the street every collection day, despite me putting them out where it is convenient for the crew and making sure they do not have to move the other colour bin to get to the green or blue bin. They also throw other peoples bins into my front yard.

I would appreciate my food bin to be emptied and some care taken when replacing bins.

Bin collection line 020725 2000 worth trying, however I found them dismissive and my issue was not resolved.

Complaints 0207525 0042 …. Actually spoke to a really excellent customer service advisor, I think only accessible on week days -office hours. She was very helpful and resolved my uncollected bin issue

I'm hoping last week's garden waste will finally get emptied tomorrow, but I'm now thinking even if they do come, will they ignore it , as still haven't received my sticker for this year? We'll see.

I just spoke to the bin man who was taking the food waste bin and he said he doesn't take the brown garden waste bin! He said that was another round. Strange as theyre always taken together. He said to ring them and complain.

I think that as a group we should escalate this further if they're not emptied today.

    • I think it means it would be cheaper to replace it than repair it.
    • That's interesting! When I moved here in 1991 (I think!) there were police horses at the back of the police station when it was  in Lordship Lane. I don't know if the entrance to the stables was in Whateley Road, but the horses used to be ridden around that area, presumably for exercise. A friend of mine who was visiting from outside London was very disconcerted to see a mounted police person riding down the road. She thought it meant I lived in a really dangerous area 🤣
    • I live in a street of terraced houses. I have just remembered that a house diagonally opposite to mine had major  subsidence in their bay, which was propped up with scaffolding etc for some time. This was some years before my issues in my bay started. The reason I'm posting this here is that there is a large tree outside their house as well.  The tree  is still there, so I'm assuming that the tree was not the cause of their subsidence either. There is also no sign of further cracking, so I assume that whatever remedial measures were undertaken worked. Of course trees CAN  cause subsidence, but that is two incidences locally where very bad subsidence was not due to a  street tree outside the house. I don't know the actual cause in that case (though I could find out, as the then  owner has moved but still lives locally) but my suspicion is that it was the same as mine, as all  the terraced  houses would have been built at  the same time.
    • The Police Station was on the corner of Crystal Palace Road and the horses were kept out the back. My Great Grandmother and Great Grandfather owned a nearby Barber shop. The police men would visit the barber shop often and get their beards shaved. My grand mother and her sister, who were growing up in the family home, would have to lather the policemens chins, much to their amusement as they giggled away.
