Sue Posted Wednesday at 10:01 Share Posted Wednesday at 10:01 Sadly I am not in the market for buying a new car, electric or otherwise, or else I would happily join the Tesla boycott, which seems to be having the desired effect (sales have fallen significantly, and Trump is calling the boycotters Radical Left Lunatics 🤣) I googled to try to find out if I was likely to buy anything American, in order to replace it with something not American, and the only thing I can find so far is Fairy Liquid (of which I already have a lifetime's supply, as I have a dishwasher, so I rarely actually use the FL). I really don't feel I can google absolutely everything I buy, but does anyone know of a website which has a comprehensive list of American imports to the UK, including but not solely food and household stuff? Also, Amazon and eBay are both American, which is annoying as I buy quite a lot from both as it's convenient, so I will have to rethink that, I suppose. Thanks Ilona, it was that article which led me to do the Google search in the first place! And also to sign up to get updates from the Stop Trump thing, though I have mixed feelings about that (diplomacy etc. Starmer in a difficult position etc.) 1 minute ago, jazzer said: Microsoft!!! jazzer Posted Wednesday at 11:09 Share Posted Wednesday at 11:09 As Vladi said in his post "The Fifth". Will Trump even complete his term in office before someone does away with him. At this rate the rest of the World hate him, the leaders of the nations have distain for him, maybe his aim is to divide up the world between the USA, Russia and China, with Europe no longer being an Allie of the US. However the only reason Trump is behaving in the way he is, is to stop spending money on non US related issues and hence driving all the money back to the US. As he says he "wants to make America great again". Personally he scare the ebiegibies out of me. What's the odds we'll be at war by the end of 2025, or the three super powers will be at war. Which ever way you cut it, the world has become a much more scary and dangerous place. Spartacus Posted Wednesday at 16:55 Share Posted Wednesday at 16:55 @alice why stop.at products, netflix, Disney plus, and other streaming services, McDonalds, pret, Starbucks, delivery apps, uber, so more "services" that have American roots My thoughts are if the masses silently boycot American firms in the UK,it might start to send a message The revolution starts here ! 1 Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/358766-boycotting-us-products/#findComment-1700180 Share on other sites

jazzer Posted Wednesday at 18:43 Share Posted Wednesday at 18:43 Trump is behaving as he is to minimise the amount of money previously spent by the Democrats, (just a guess) on things that are outside of the US, i.e. the billions of $ spent on things such as the Ukraine and in other parts of the world which produce or give no benefit to the US. Starmer had no answers at PMQ's today, repeating the same hot air as previously, Kemi rinsed him. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bcvrIp-vfTk Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/358766-boycotting-us-products/#findComment-1700198 Share on other sites

I can't bear to watch 😂 I haven't got much time for either of them, for different reasons, though my view of Starmer had gone up a bit lately. Mind you it was starting from a very low level. jazzer Posted Wednesday at 21:32 Share Posted Wednesday at 21:32 Well, I hope you like what you see, the hot air, lack of answers and continual blaming things on the last Government and the made up blackhole, I find are nauseating. The man needs to see reality, because I'd guess that if we had a snap election tomorrow and based on the first six months of this parliament, Labour would get trounced. When the election does finally happen and if that isn't before the people rise up and throw this lot out, Labour will not be voted back in for a millennium. 1 Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/358766-boycotting-us-products/#findComment-1700216 Share on other sites
